Blog Tour - Sail by M. Mabie

Title: Sail
Series: Wake #2
Author: M. Mabie
Release Date: March 29, 2015

This isn’t just a two-year long one-night stand. It’s my life.

This is my life. Our life. It isn’t just some careless affair.

I’ve made the worst decisions a woman could, but I’ll earn my second chance.

She can try keeping all the guilt for herself, but I’m just as much to blame.

Loving Casey wasn’t my biggest mistake. Fighting it for so long was.

I’ll show her how fearless our love makes me. I’ll protect her torn heart.

He still has magic in his eyes. He’s the man who makes me happy.

Her voice still brings me to my knees. She says my name like it’s sacred.

I live for the day when I’m his. To take care of him. To love him the way he deserves.

I can’t wait to be all she needs. I can give her a happy life, security and so much love.

Sometimes two ships never meet in the night, but ours did.

Sometimes the water is rough. It beats you all to hell until you have no choice but get stronger.

Our love story reads more like a tragedy, but to me it’s clean and pure.

Let them point their fingers. Without a love like ours, they haven’t really lived. I pity them.

I’m a cheating wife and a villain. I am his honeybee.

I’m a snake in the grass and I sleep best when I’m lying next to his wife.

I want to be his everything.

I’m nothing without her anyway.

This isn’t even close to over.

It’ll never be over.

If you’re like me, the end of Bait had you throwing your Kindle across the room and beating your fists into a pillow. I’m happy to tell you that Sail will heal all the raw, gaping wounds that Baitleft behind. What an amazing, beautiful sequel to Blake and Casey’s story.

“You’re like the wind, and I’m like the sail. When I go against you, it’s rough, almost impossible to find my path. But when my mind finally submitted to my heart, everything was easier. And the best part was, I got you.”

After a scandalous beginning, Blake and Casey spend this book healing themselves and their relationship, and learning how to be together. I am completely in love with Ms. Mabie’s writing style, and the way she created these wonderfully flawed characters who show depth and growth over the course of this story.

Along with her gift of writing complex characters, Ms. Mabie can write the hell out of a sex scene. Hoo boy, Casey and Blake have explosive chemistry and on more than one occasion, I found myself panting while reading the steamier scenes. And Casey? He’s sexy, patient, kind and funny. I can’t tell you how much I love a man with a sense of humor.

“You keep a picture of me above your vibrator like a sexual tombstone.” He chuckled. “I approve.”

There are a few twists and turns along the way, but this book was completely worth the agony that was Bait. Sail was like a gift, a balm for the heart. A sweet, adorable story of two soul mates who finally figured out that they’re better together than apart, it was totally worth the journey.

A story of REAL love, second chances and a ticked off (soon to be) ex. After the huge, dramatic ending and cliffhanger with Bait, I couldn't wait to start Sail.

Casey was still as cute and playful as ever. Blake grew into a stronger woman this time around. Not just doing what she THINKS everyone will approve of, but thinking with her heart to keep Casey in her life for good. They are adorable together. They feel like a real couple going through real drama. And Sail is FULL of drama.

The first half of this book went very slow for me. A lot of mundane back and forth between the main characters that seemed unnecessary considering book one already had established their relationship.

Overall, I did love this couple though. Their quirks and their journey was fun. Bumpy, but fun.

Favorite quote:

"But maybe good things don't just come to those who wait. Maybe good things also come to those strong enough to fight when it looked like a losing battle. Those who never gave up."

M. Mabie lives in Illinois with her husband. She is the author of the steamy comedy Fade In. Her sophomore release, Bait, is the first book in the angst-filled erotic Wake Series. She writes unconventional love stories and tries to embody "real-life romance."

She cares about politics, but will not discuss them in public. She uses the same fork at every meal, watches Wayne's World while cleaning, and lets her dog sleep on her head. She has always been a writer. In fact, she was born with a pen in her hand, which almost never happens. Almost. M. Mabie usually doesn't speak in third-person either. She promises.
