From the New York Times bestselling author of Sweet Ache comes a blistering new novel filled with danger, secrecy, and a desire that can’t be sated…

But when he meets his new photojournalist, Beaux Croslyn, he can’t help but feel like he’s losing his focus—and maybe risking more…

With secrets she won’t address, Beaux is far from your ordinary woman. Determined to keep her distance, she’s willing to pull Tanner in closer and hide behind the sparks flying between them. But as Beaux’s past begins to put their relationship—and their lives—at risk, Tanner’s determination to find the truth puts them both in jeopardy.

He's ready to chase her to the ends of the earth to find out if what they had was real, or if the danger surrounding them was just an exquisite heat fated to burn out…

Hard Beat grabs ahold of your heart and doesn't let go until the very last word.

Tanner Thomas is a foreign war correspondent for a major network. He’s lived on the edge of the cliff—thriving on the energy and adrenaline from the rush of breaking the story. But after a recent tragedy, Tanner’s trying to find his center, his place in the world and to move forward even though he's haunted by his past. Then, he meets Beaux, and his world turns on its axis.

Beaux Croslin is the new photojournalist assigned to Tanner. She’s not only absolutely stunning, she’s an extremely talented photographer. As Beaux and Tanner get closer, the sparks fly—burning up the sheets. Beaux’s unwillingness to talk about herself or her past, and Tanner’s inability to let secrets lie, puts them both in danger. And with Tanner’s tenacity, he’s determined to find out if what they had in the desert is real or just circumstantial.

Hot, sexy, happy, sad, this standalone, though part of the Driven series, ticks off all the boxes. Ms. Bromberg’s ability to write such well-developed characters that immediately lure the reader into their world is phenomenal. Beaux and Tanner were amazing, heartbreaking, drool worthy for their friendship and love for each other.

Tanner. Damn. I loved his vulnerability and his chivalrous nature—wanting to take the blame when there was no true blame to be had. And Beaux was pretty damn kick ass too. I. Loved. Every. Word. I'm giving it 5 stars but it's really more like 500...

Holy hell! This story ripped my heart out! It had my glued to my seat until the very last page.

Tanner Thomas, Rylee’s brother, is a foreign correspondent/journalist. He has been in the Middle East for the last ten years, off and on, and is very good at his job. He is constantly in dangerous situations and loves the buzz and adrenaline he gets. He usually has a photographer with him, but due to unforeseen circumstances, his partner, Stella, is no longer with him.

Enter Beaux ‘BJ’ Croslyn. She is a rookie and Tanner’s new photographer. The two have an instant connection and are constantly pushing each other’s buttons.

“She’s such a contradiction. Elegant with the mouth of a trucker and a body made for sin. No wonder I’m intrigued and pissed simultaneously.”

The connection between the two is magnetic. It takes them time to finally give in to their attraction, but when they do it is hot.

“I crush my lips to hers. Savoring her taste. Goddamn it. It’s everything I don’t want but crave all the same because it tempts me and calls on me to have more.”

This story had so many twists and turns that I did not expect. I loved how Beaux and Tanner were constantly pushing and pulling against their attraction. It was sexy, sad, emotional, and full of drama.

“She’s my little piece of Heaven in this land full of Hell.”

K. Bromberg’s writing is addictive and sucks you in from the very beginning. It grabs you like nothing else and takes your heart for the entire wild ride. This was another fantastic novel and I loved that we got to see some of Colton and Rylee too!
