Title: The Fragile Line: Part One
Series: The Fine Line #2
Author: Alicia Kobishop
Release Date: March 15, 2016
Recommended for ages 18+ due to strong language and sexual content.
Chloe McCarthy thought she had found the perfect guy. Someone just as detached as she was when it came to love and commitment. Someone who never pressured her for more than just sex. But when she gets a little too comfortable with their arrangement, and he rejects her for someone else, it triggers heartbreaking memories that leave her questioning her resolve for a commitment-free life. In a moment of self-pity, she calls on the one person who she knows will make her smile.
Matt Langston lives a drama-free life, and he wants to keep it that way. Chloe McCarthy? All drama. Which is why he needs to stay away from her. A mechanic by day and bouncer by night, he tries to focus on work, but the more he tries, the more she creeps into his thoughts and his dreams, until he realizes that he needs to get her out of his system once and for all.
The Fragile Line is a spin-off to The Fine Line, told in an addicting three-part romance novella series, with each part building on the last. The series may be read alone, however, reading The Fine Line first will provide a further introduction to the characters which may enhance the overall reading experience.
So, if you have not read The Fine Line, you may want to. Not 100% necessary but this book runs along the same timeline and it may clear some confusion.
Chloe, I hated right off the bat. She was such the bad guy in The Fine Line, in love with a man who is in love with another, and it made me want to claw her eyes out. BUT, this book explains her background and her current state of mind. It doesn’t excuse her actions, but it puts a nice wrapping on why.
Matt, oh swoonworthy Matt. You try so hard to be noble when it comes to Olivia, and I find that endearing.
While this book runs parallel with The Fine Line, there is a whole other world in this book, and this world is steamy and hot. Bring a fan, and maybe some relief, you will need it.
This is only this author's second book, yet you can truly feel the passion she has for these characters. She is able to paint a picture for us that puts us right in the middle of the action. I am anxiously awaiting book two in this three part series!

High school senior Liv Evans has one rule: No attachments. She’s lost enough in her life and has vowed to do whatever it takes to make sure she never again feels the emptiness of losing someone she loves. Boys are a fun distraction, but a serious relationship is something she’d rather live without. Her determination for a future free of pain and heartbreak is put to the test when she meets–and quickly forms an unexpected bond–with Logan Tanner.
Logan has always been a free spirit, but ever since a life-changing event took place, which left him doubting the integrity of those who are closest to him, he’s taken that term to a whole new dangerous level. Learning the hard way that life is too short for worries or work–and that women can’t be trusted–Logan has exchanged steady work for street racing. When Liv walks into his world, everything he thought he knew about life and women is challenged.
In The Fine Line, Liv and Logan will discover if it’s possible for true love to have a future, or if history is destined to repeat itself.
Olivia (Liv) is a high school senior, but that does NOT make this book YA. There are some huge fireworks that you need to experience for yourself!
Olivia has known loss in her life, so when she says she will never fall in love or connect with a man, she truly means it. But what happens when you find your other half? A connection so deep, you fall no matter what you do to avoid the hole?
Logan is not the type of guy to settle down; he enjoys casual relationships, the kind with no strings. He is the definition of young guy, party, sleep around, and enjoy life in the moment. He also likes to street race, and when he finds his new lucky charm, he has to fight some pretty intense feelings to stay just friends.
So, everything sounds kind of cliché right? WRONG! This is more than the stubborn girl falls for the stubborn boy and they fall madly in love, the end. So much more. And I never do this, but here are my thoughts as I read…
Beginning to 62%: I was so engrossed in this story, I didn’t write anything down! But the story was so good I don’t think I even took a break to breathe.
62% The first bit of sexy (I am usually a total smut lover), but I was so into the story I didn’t even notice or care.
79% You have ripped my heart out. Here, take it. It’s broken and useless now so just keep it, I don’t need it any more.
80% Okay, I want my heart back now, I might be over what happened. Maybe.
91% What are you doing to me? I am not sure I can handle this!
93% WHAT?? Why are you doing this to me? *Grabs tissues and chocolate*
That ending… OH. MY. GOD. I love Logan.
