Review - Forever Pucked by Helena Hunting

Title: Forever Pucked
Series: Pucked #4
Author: Helena Hunting
Release Date: March 29, 2016

Being engaged to Alex Waters, team captain and the highest paid NHL player in the league, is awesome. How could it not be?

In addition to being an amazing hockey player, he’s an incurable romantic with an XL heart, and an XXL hockey stick in his pants. And he knows how to use it. Incredibly, orgasmically well. Alex is the whole package and more. Literally. Like his package is insane. Total world record holder material.

So it makes complete sense that Violet Hall can’t wait to nail him down to the matrimonial mattress and become Mrs. Violet Waters.

It’s so romantic.

Violet is totally stoked to set a date.

Eventually. At some point. Likely before the next millennium. Or when Violet stops getting hives every time someone brings up the wedding, and their mothers stop colluding on stadium sized venues. Whichever comes first.

Alex and Violet are back, along with the Beaver and Super MC! And I am so glad we got a follow up book to this crazy ass couple.

As you can see by the blurb, Alex and Violet are now engaged and planning their wedding! If the moms don’t get in the way, everything should go smoothly, right? And mothers never interfere, ever! And they, the mothers, also give us quite a bit of comic relief…

Violet is still so awkward she could be anyone of us ladies without a filter, or even your best friend. She has a few quirks that make her utterly endearing and totally epic! When the thoughts of the wedding stress her out, she becomes an antihistamine addicts with no signs of giving up the habit, or setting a date.

Alex is still all alpha male and in charge, until… I am not going to tell you—that would be a spoiler, and spoilers are bad! So, know that at some point we all need to lean on someone else, and just when you think it can’t get any worse, your mother is bound to make everything a bit more awkward.

Their friends are all a part of this world Ms. Hunting has once again weaved for us. It’s great to get a glimpse into the crazy lives of the players and the women who are even crazier for falling for them. With all the humor and shenanigans going on, make sure you don’t snort too hard and hurt yourself while laughing. Also, if a bathroom is not readily available, may I suggest some type of adult diaper? You may need them from laughing so hard!

Alex and Violet have been my favorite couple in this series since their first book, Pucked. In the books after, I loved getting little glimpses into their lives while the other couples found love. So, when I found out they would be getting another book, I was stoked!

Alex and Violet are engaged and should have a date set for the wedding, but Violet gets so stressed about the wedding, she gets hives just thinking about it. And with their mothers trying to plan something way larger than they want, the road to the wedding isn’t without a few roadblocks.

I loved reading in Alex and Violet’s POVs again! Alex is such a romantic and treats Violet so well. Violet is so unfiltered, fun, and loves Alex with all her heart. This book was about so much more than their wedding—they had to deal with a lot, and that only made them stronger as a couple.

Forever Pucked was such a great continuation of their story. I loved the epilogue! It was such a cute glimpse into their future. I’m hoping we will get more books in this series in the future, as I’m not ready for it to be over.

Super MC + Beave = Awesome.

It's a simple and fairly expected equation, given the hilarity that was Alex and Violet in Pucked, but a damn good one, nonetheless.

I loved being back with Vi and Alex—and the rest of their crazy crew. There's plenty of fun and shenanigans, surprising and embarrassing moments, fucking HOT bedroom...bathroom...kitchen breaks, and some sweet tenderness here—from ALL of the Pucked family. Which, of course, makes Forever Pucked a whole hell of a lotta fun. Just like the rest of the books that make up this series.

While it wasn't as riotous as Pucked, and was a little slow to start for me, it wasn't long before I found myself completely immersed in the surprising (and welcome) intensity that pervaded this book. I may not have shed tears of laughter as I did with book one, but I came awfully close to the other kind of tears—the ones that come from a touching, and occasionally heart-sore, book.

Vi and Alex are simply wonderful—a perfect, if slightly insane match—and seeing them again, moving forward, overcoming obstacles, anxiety and annoyingly meddlesome relatives (I'll admit, this was a little borderline for me at times; I really wanted some strong words to be had...), was a blast. Addictive. Not quite a one-sitting read but so damn close. Damn you, responsibilities *shakes fist*.

I truly hope that there will be more Pucked books to... come *snicker*. I found myself fascinated by the dynamics of Darren and Charlene, and ever more desperate to get to the...meat *snort* of Lance's story with Tash. Oh, and I could really use more *ahem* BALLS in my life. And, of course, some cookies... *titter*

Basically, hilarious Helena Hunting + the pucking spectacular Pucked series = Something I need more of. Soon. Pretty please?
