Have you ever transferred schools? Or heck even the first day of high school makes you a bundle of nerves. Well imagine both scenarios intensified by 100! Samantha is finally joining both Mason and Logan at Fallen Crest Public. These three have proven time and time again in book 1 and 2 they are the only family each other needs.
Fallen Crest Public

Since the blowout with Samantha’s wretched mother, Analise, these three are living on their own shaking up with their partner in crime Nate.  You know going into this book that Samantha’s transfer to Fallen Crest Public is not going to be easy; but wow I didn’t see all the drama waiting for her. Drama also known as the Tommy Princesses with queen bitch Kate. This group of girls is a mix of Mean Girls and Clueless but add in some psychoticness from the Heathers. Damn Kate is a psychopath; seriously move over Georgina there is a new wench of a bully in town! Mason and Logan Kade they are Gods in school everyone listens and no one goes against them. So if you can’t take them down you go for their weakness right? Unfortunately for Samantha she is their weakness. Both brothers love Sam like something fierce. Whereas they may be brothers by blood, they have adopted Sam as their own knit of kin.
I like Samantha as a heroine and have enjoyed her POV from the beginning, but wow did I love how Tijan included Mason’s POV in this third book! Not only do we get some insight into how Mason feels, thinks, also how he, Logan, and Nate scheme. To Sam, Mason and Logan are literally her rock that she relies on since her family dynamic has broken into a puzzle that cannot be put back together. On the other hand, I don’t think I have grasped the extent of how much the brothers love Sam until Mason’s POV.
"She had no idea how rare she was. She had no fucking clue, and I didn’t have the words to tell her. Even if I did, she’d be uncomfortable at the idea. She’d fidget, look anywhere other than at me, and then convince herself that I was being overdramatic. Samantha didn’t know how to be loved—her mother made sure of that—so she’d never understand how special she truly was.”
Talk about SWOON!!
Whew and the sexual tension between Samantha and Mason is scorching hot! I really respect how Tijan writes up the tension enough to get you hot and bothered but tasteful true to the roots of high school. However, Samantha and Mason’s relationship is constantly tested throughout the book as are friendships, especially in relation to Nate. You don’t question he is a loyal friend to Mason but damn if you don’t contemplate his character is as shady under an oak tree in the summertime. I had a lot of WTF was he doing, did he do, whose he doing?
Samantha wasn’t the only one that I was worried about. Logan, my poor man whorish, goof-ball, enticingly sexy younger Kade. All I wanted to do was jump into the book, write myself as a character and be his girlfriend. I have been his number 1 cheerleader since book 1 hoping he’d find his own “Samantha”. Someone who wouldn’t break his heart but also convince him he can love. Yet, NO Grade A Skank - Tate had to come back into the equation.
Couldn’t stand Tate in any of the books especially because of how she has treated Logan in the past. This book doesn’t change your perspective on her. She is still a skank who wants to have her cake (Logan) and eat it too (wants to have every other guys attention). Not only is she untrustworthy as a companion she is also a crappy friend. Prime example is how she was to Heather. Heather is by far my favorite secondary character. The dynamic between her and Sam is so realistic to how bffs should be to one another. While Sam struggles to make friends she is loyal to Heather so thank goodness they have one another; Kate threatens and terrorizes them both.
Samantha gains more of her voice and feistiness back in this book but her stubbornness remains front and center stage. After two books it is a tad eye rolling that Sam still seems shell shocked by the power Mason and Logan hold in school.
"Being loved and protected by Mason and Logan was like holding a loaded gun. I could pull the trigger at any moment, but the consequences could be disastrous."
I was impressed, rather than going for the gun each time drama was directed at her, Samantha fights some of her own battles and wow is she kickass! I also respect the way she handles her frustrations with running. Sure does she need to deal with her daddy issues, YES, but it takes time; time she has to sort out.
In addition to the bat shit crazy Queen Bully Kate, Mason and Logan have added problems in the form of the Broudou brothers. So Beau is as scummy as the crap you get on the bottom of your shoes, however, the other brother Brett all I can say is AWE. The book starts out as a unified front, them three against it all, but as the story progresses Mason and Logan formulate their own plans and exclude Sam and my heart broke for all of them. None of this drama is easy for them to handle and puts a strain on all of the relationship dynamics. Tijan has done it again. She takes us on a helluva of a roller coaster that you can't and don't want to get off until all the loops, curves and twists have been revealed and settled! Samantha is truly the bigger person in all of this. The pain she endures from Kate yet in the end helps Kate, yup Nobel Peace Prize to her. I know it should probably be a tad scary/intimidating how manipulative Mason and Logan’s minds are but NO damn they are hot!

The revelation at the end, although you have your suspicions you hope fingers, toes, body crossed that you are wrong NOPE Tijan confirms your worst scenario. I do not want to be Samantha in book 4. Some of the drama is repetitive but Tijan writes such amazing angst that you don’t care. All you want is more Mason, Logan and Sam and well, for all three to have their own happily ever after. Will, can, do they all get their HEA Tijan? I can’t wait to know please?

Tijan started writing later in life, after she had already graduated college with a different direction in mind and a different degree under her belt. Hitting the brakes on that path, she taught herself how to write a good book and began posting at sites such as Fictionpress, along with Wattpad. After receiving such encouraging messages from readers, she self-published Fallen Crest High and has continued throughout the year. She continues to keep writing NA books!
