Title: Imaginary Lines
Series: New York Leopards #3
Author: Allison Parr
Release Date: April 14, 2014
Tamar Rosenfeld has been in love with New York Leopards linebacker Abraham Krasner since they were twelve years old. She'd always considered it destiny that they'd end up together…until Abe was drafted and she professed her feelings in a moment of blind excitement. The sting of his rejection was like nothing she'd ever felt before, and it's nothing she'll ever forget.
Older and wiser, Tamar has landed a dream job as a reporter for one of New York's premier athletic websites. Determined to stop being the safe, boring girl she's felt like for most of her life, Tamar makes a list of all the things she wants to do and see in her new city, and Getting Over Abraham is priority number one.
But destiny has finally chosen to interfere. Just as Tamar's decided to move on, Abe's realized she's the only woman for him. When he confides the truth, Tamar has to decide if she can put her crush behind her, or take a chance on the very man who's been holding her back all these years.

#1 Rush Me
#1 Running Back
I am in love with this series! Allison Parr did it again with another fabulous addition to the “New York Leopards” books. When I first came across Rush Me (#1) I hadn’t read many New Adult books focusing on football, so I didn’t know what to expect. Needless to say, it blew me away and I quickly snatched up Running Back (#2) when it was released and completely devoured it. I have been eagerly awaiting the return of the Leopards in Imaginary Lines and it did not disappoint! While the series builds on itself – the same characters are present and add to the story – each book can be read as a standalone and the plots are independent. Amazingly, Allison Parr does not fall into the same story each time, but keeps it fresh and new.
Each book focuses on a different player on the New York Leopards via the women who love them. The relationships evolve organically, every character is unique. Imaginary Lines features Tamar Rosenfeld (lovingly nicknamed Tammy) and Abraham Krasner (Abe), childhood friends whose relationship develops. Tamar has always loved Abe, and when he is drafted to the New York Leopards, she decides to tell him how she feels. Unfortunately, Abe does not reciprocate her feelings and thus begins a four year hiatus in their friendship. Only when Tammy takes a job in New York City as a sports reporter for a popular magazine are the two reunited. Their friendship blossoms and it develops from there.
Like any good romance, this book is about the characters and their relationships. And it is SO REAL. IT seemed as ifI was Tammy, in her head and felt everything she felt. Nothing about this story felt contrived, the characters were genuine and authentic. Tamar and Abraham were both relatable, and you couldn’t help but love them. Tammy works as a journalist, has her own career and life and is a smart and strong woman. Exactly the type of woman I like to see J. Abe is (of course) a professional football player, yet is not jaded and still retains his guy-next-door appeal. He is the guy every girl wants to marry – sweet, funny, loving, rich (J/K) and fiercely loyal.
My favorite part of the book is the banter. Tammy is a bit snarky, slightly sarcastic and her chemistry with Abe is most potent in their conversations. While they knew each other so well as kids, they have to relearn each other as adults. The core of this story is not about falling in love but accepting the love already present. Both Tammy and Abe have to figure out how they fit as adults.
My only gripe is that the book was written in first person from Tammy’s perspective and I could have used more insight from Abe! At times, what Tammy was thinking overpowered how Abe really felt. This was completely in line with the story and strengthened the plot, but I personally would have loved to see inside Abe’s head.
If you are looking for a well written, gripping, beautiful story about two childhood friends falling in love – this is the book for you! And if you haven’t yet met the other wonderful (and sexy) men on the Leopards – check out the rest of the series right now.
I give Imaginary Lines 4.5 stars!

I am a sucker for a Sports Romance Novel. If you like HOT and SEXY football players, you will love Abe. It didn't take long for me to completely fall head over heels for him. It does contain quite of bit of football terminology so you really need to like and understand football to enjoy it. I gave this book 4 stars. While I love a sports romance, I didn't feel like there was enough intimate parts in the book. I also felt like I had to have a dictionary handy while reading it due to the fact that there was some words I wasn't quite familiar with. Overall, a good read.
