Blog Tour - Last Second Chance by Caisey Quinn

Title: Last Second Chance
Series: Second Chance #1
Author: Caisey Quinn
Early Release Date: May 8, 2014

When Stella Jo Chandler gets an offer to work at the Second Chance Ranch celebrity rehab facility right after graduating from Texas A&M, she’s tempted to turn it down. She wants to help real people with real problems, not spoiled celebrities going on vacation for publicity. But growing up on her family’s ranch left her with a love of horses that draws her to the opportunity. How bad can babysitting a bunch of strung out celebrities be?

What she didn’t count on was being roped into a tangled mess with infamous rocker and three-time rehab drop out Van Ransom on her first day. And she sure didn’t expect to feel the overwhelming attraction that pulls her to the man who has more issues than she can count on both hands. Like the hotel rooms and tour buses he’s famous for trashing, the havoc he could wreak on Stella’s heart would be irreparable.

Van isn’t at Second Chance for publicity or because he’s suffering from “exhaustion”. He’s on the brink of destruction, and he needs the kind of help Stella isn’t sure she can give. But without her, he'll lose everything. Because he’s on his last second chance.

I will always love  Caisey Quinn's writing. It was love at first sight for both Stella Jo and Van. I love a book that will draw me in from the beginning to the end and this book did just that.

Stella Jo Chandler just graduated school and came straight to Last Second Chance Ranch to help people with problems. She studied hard in college to get to where she is now. She is attracted to Van but he is a client of the facility. She will fight the attraction since she cannot risk her job. BUT will she be strong enough to fight the way he makes her feel when he is around her?

Van Ransom, HOT TATTOOED rockstar who ends up in rehab for drugs. He goes by Mr. Walker in rehab, since he is a celebrity and does not want anyone to recognize him. He also slept with almost anyone who would throw themselves at him just because he is a celebrity and can have anyone he wants.

I love the sexual tension, it was an extreme torture, having to hold all these feelings in and not having any choice because of the risk that they are taking. And their attraction to each other was off the wall, being sort of forbidden in a way made it more exciting. It just made me want to keep turning from one page to the next.

Two broken people meet and get a chance in life to experience something they have never ever experienced before, was just totally heartwarming.

This is my, I don't know, I've lost count of how many books I've read written by Caisey Quinn.  I am addicted to all your books and will be waiting for more. I can't wait to read book two of the Second Chance Series. No cliffy on this one, which I loved, by the way. Caisey, awesome job and I want more, please.

4.5 Hostage for Ransom Stars!

*still fanning self*

“Last night was because I love you. Because I’m in love with you. Bone-deep, soul-crushing, change-your-genetic-makeup love.”

What do you get if you read a rockstar checked-in at rehab and a young, smart, councilor and former horserider champ?

A sarcastically funny, crazy romantic and sexually overcharged, explosive characters!

Miss Caisey Quinn did a number on me on this one. From reading Kylie and Trace’s story from the Kylie Ryans series, Last Second Chance impressed me with how different they are yet came from the same author. Although there were still similarities, the character and story build up in this book were amazing. Van and Stella were honest, strong individuals with painful pasts.  Both of them trying to face the hurt that they are carrying and finding the light in their own dark, heavy hearts from each other. The chemistry was strong after their first encounter and only got increasingly tense as Stella tried to reason off why it’s a bad idea to get involved with a troubled rockstar patient, erm, client. I was relieved when it didn’t take Stella long to admit her feelings. It was not easy but I appreciate that her indecisiveness didn’t drag on. I love how Van and Stella are together. Not only sexually but mentally, they served as each other’s anchors keeping both of them grounded. I admired Van’s persistence of going after what he wants and then thinking about Stella’s well-being.

Last Second Chance is full of heat, and I was smiling, laughing and rooting for them all throughout. All that forbidden patient-employee rule added to the thrill of their story, I was actually nervous for them too!

I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next character’s story!

Stars: 4.5 stars!
Recommended to: Rockstar second chance readers.
POV: Third person. Dual POV.
Series: Yes. But standalone.
Cliffhanger: No.
EXTRA COMMENT: I’m greedy, I want a longer Epilogue.

Caisey Quinn has done it again with Last Second Chance!

Van Ransom, the lead singer for Hostage for Ransom,is a poor tortured soul that has been through hell and back. The only way he knows how to numb the pain he's been through in his short life is with booze, drugs and woman. Van is given an ultimatum either enter the rehab of the Record Companies choice or not be signed by them so basically he feels he has no say in this. Van feels this will be just like the other times at the other rehab facilities he has been in.

Stella Jo Chandler is a young woman who buried herself in her studies to to numb the pain of not having the love and acceptance from her parents. To top it off she broke up with her boyfriend Nash and he wasted no time moving on with her roommate and of course she just has to numb that pain as well. We also get to see why Stella's family life was the way it was and I must say it had me gasping saying " tell me it's not what I think it is" and then yes a bomb is dropped...Did not really see that coming and I must say I really liked the way she handled that situation.

At Second Chance Ranch he "runs into" Stella Jo and I love the first couple of sentences at the beginning of chapter 4 because as you read the book you see that he "really tries his hardest to be that man for Stella Jo"! There is sizzling chemistry between them at first and but as they spend time together that chemistry starts igniting a fire they cant put out but instead give in. They are both playing with fire because there cannot be any type of fraternizing between client/employee but their attraction is stronger than the consequences so they give in. We learn more about Van, why he is the way he is as well as why he feels that he is damaged goods and there is no hope for him. Oh and Stella, she feels she can help him and accept him for whom he truly is as a "real person" not the person he puts himself out to be. There are holes and bumps on their road to a relationship and some yelling telling them to get their acts together,

Like all of Caisey's book this one is full of drama, pain, sorrow, passion, love, forgiveness towards yourself and others as well as HOPE and lots of it!! You will not be disappointed! This book is 4 1/2 stars for me. Cant wait for the next book in this series.

I give this book 5 stars *****

Let me just start with I love this book, could not put it down. Van and Stella are perfect for each other. They remind me so much of Kylie and Trace from Caisey's other books Kylie Ryan's Series.

This book starts up with Stella finishing up college, feeling lonely and empty. Feeling like nobody cared for her, the last boyfriend she had started dating her roommate. Not that she really cared, it just hurt her to see them together. Stella never really loved anyone before, she didn't know how. She felt like her own parents didn't even love her; Why would anyone else? Stella basically never gave her whole self to anyone, because she didn't want to take a chance of being hurt. Instead of finding love, she chose to close herself off. Closing herself from feeling anything for anyone, which left her lonely and empty.

Then there's Van, tattooed hot rock star. Who has been in and out of rehab. Once again pushed to check into rehab, in the same place of Stella's new job. Van never really had a serious relationship, he has been broken since his sister died. He blamed himself for her death and instead of feeling, he drowned himself with drugs, alcohol and lots of meaningless sex.

Until their world collided...

While on a job interview at Last Chance Rehab, she bumps into rocker hottie Van while checking out the place. At that moment, neither one could take their eyes off each other. It was love at first sight, both felt a electricity from each other. At that moment, they knew there was something between them. Van and Stella couldn't stop thinking of each other. Stella knew it was a bad idea, so she tried to keep her distance. Van also knew it was a bad idea, but for some reason he couldn't stop thinking about Stella. No matter how many of the nurses were frantically throwing themselves at his mercy, he wasn't having any of it. He knew he wanted Stella and no one else. For the first time in his life, other women didn't matter. In the past women threw themselves at him and he always let them have what they wanted, but not this time. This time it was all about Stella and he was going to make her his sooner or later. <3

This book is now added to my favorite romance books, I love it and what I love about this book is there is no cliffhanger and is all the way HEA. Can't wait to read the next installment of Second Chance.
