Best friends since birth, Brooke Reid and Savannah Prescott, spend their days working together at top fashion magazine Hourglass, while enjoying all that the Denver nightlife has to offer – but sharing a man – no way.
One of Denver’s most eligible bachelors, Luke Wellington, can have any woman he wants and he knows it. Putting his player skills to the test, he destroys a friendship and makes two women fall in love with him as he sits back and enjoys the best of both worlds.
Brooke Reid is a woman looking for her happily ever after, and the day she literally ran in to him, she thought she’d found it. Charming, charismatic, a true gentleman – what more could she ask for? Things are going perfectly until her best friend struts in the elevator and claimed his lips right in front of her.
Savannah Prescott is interested in one thing, having a good time with every single man Denver has to offer. Being tied down is too much of a bore for her free spirited ways. Or so she thinks, but when her best friend starts dating her Friday night fling, she realizes she may be ready to turn in her game card and settle down into a real relationship.
When both girls come to the realization that they are after the same man, it means all-out war. Best friends until the end, or at least until him.
I am all for a good love triangle story. Some readers tend to shy away from them but I say, bring it on! Hourglass is a new twist on the old love triangle. It's usually a woman that can't decide which man she wants. In this book we have two women both wanting the same man and they're best friends.
While I was excited to read this story it really took me a while to get into it. I had a really hard time connecting to either character. I'm a detail oriented person and I felt like a lot of details or situations were a touch glossed over.
With all that said, the second half of the book did pick up for me and ended on a high note. I would definitely be willing to try a book by this duo of authors again.

Let me start off by saying that Hourglass exceeded my expectations! Once I started, I couldn't put it down. I ended up finishing it at 4 a.m. I barely got any sleep that night but it was definitely worth it!
In this book you meet Brooke Reid and Savannah Prescott who have been best friends all their lives. They also both work at a top fashion magazine called Hourglass. They both end up dating the same man without knowing.
Luke Wellington is a very hot man that both girls risk their friendship to have. Luke and his player ways cause the two best friends to hate each other, while he gets to have both girls to himself.
While I was reading this I really had no idea how it would end and I loved that! With a lot of books I can usually tell what is going to happen and how it ends, but that was not the case with this book. I really loved both Brooke and Savannah and there wasn't one that I preferred with Luke over the other. Throughout the story the girls' friendship is both destroyed and put back together.
If you love stories with strong best friends, you should definitely read this book! Savannah and Brooke have a friendship that everyone should have with someone in their life! I LOVED the ending to this awesome story! It was perfect!
