Blog Tour - Debt Inheritance by Pepper Winters

Title: Debt Inheritance
Series: Indebted #1
Author: Pepper Winters
Release Date: August 18, 2014

“I own you. I have the piece of paper to prove it. It’s undeniable and unbreakable. You belong to me until you’ve paid off your debts.”

Nila Weaver’s family is indebted. Being the first born daughter, her life is forfeit to the first born son of the Hawks to pay for sins of ancestors past. The dark ages might have come and gone, but debts never leave. She has no choice in the matter.

She is no longer free.

Jethro Hawk receives Nila as an inheritance present on his twenty-ninth birthday. Her life is his until she’s paid off a debt that’s centuries old. He can do what he likes with her—nothing is out of bounds—she has to obey.

There are no rules. Only payments.

A modern day Dark Erotic Romance

When does book 2 come out? THAT is how good this book is. This book is dark, sexy and just…. WOW.

Nila Weaver is a fashion designer determined to make a name for herself without using her family name. At her first runway show, her father introduces her to a man. No big deal right? Wrong! Her father has kept her sheltered her entire life and has never introduced her to anyone, let alone a man he suggests she should go out with.

Jethro Hawk is 29 and has been given a gift. This gift is one he doesn’t want, but plans to use. Her name is Nila. Over 600 years ago, there was an agreement between the 2 families; the first born girl of the Weavers, would belong to the first born male of the Hawks. The Hawks would then take “repayment” of old debts as they saw fit, from the Weavers.

'I inherited her. I preyed on her. I owned her life and had the piece of paper to prove it. Nila Weaver. Mine. And my task…. Devour her.'

“Be afraid of me, Ms. Weaver. Be afraid because your life is now mine and I’m the master of everything that happens to you. But know this… it’s not just me you have to fear.”

This is a book that took me by surprise. I loved the twists and turns you never see coming until they smack you in the face. You get a sense of who the characters are and how they are feeling, all while being dragged behind the rollercoaster!

'Her timid fingers. Her fluttering breaths. They’d been more of a turn on than the most experienced of lovers. She was so fucking pure she choked on a halo.'

The ending/cliff hanger is one I didn’t see coming and couldn’t have predicted it in a million years. I cant wait to get my hands on book 2!

Ms. Winters does it again!! I can’t figure out how she is able to write these dark and twisted stories that are so raw and intense yet beautiful and tender. I read this book in one sitting. I devoured it like Jethro planned to devour Nila.

In the first installment of this series we are introduced to Jethro, the first born son of the Hawks, and Nila, the first born daughter of the Weavers. There is a 600 year old debt inheritance that allows the son to own the daughter and do what he wants with her. Nila was a sheltered, naïve, young woman who longed for a man’s touch. Her only “relationship” was through sexting a man she had never met nor talked to. It started by mistake, but it allowed her some form of male interaction besides her twin brother and her father. She continued the “relationship” with Kite once she was taken because it allowed her to have control over at least one aspect of her life.

“He’s the monster I know. He’s not sweetness and light – but he’s mine because I choose him to be.”

As Nila is thrown into this unknown world where she is expected to submit and do as she is told, she does not expect to feel a connection to Jethro. Even as she is repulsed by him, her body is turned on by him.

“My prince was evil. My prince was the villain.”

I loved to see how Nila internally fought the war of emotions she had to endure throughout learning about her debt. She was so strong, yet so weak, and it made her real.

“This wasn’t making love. This wasn’t even fucking. This was war. And hell it felt good.”

I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment to find out what happens with Nila and Jethro!!

Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex... her books have sex.

She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends.
