Review - Angel Fallen by Jennifer Leighton

Title: Angel Fallen
Author: Jennifer Leighton
Release Date: May 20, 2015

When Garon gets the news he’s about to be transferred to a new assignment, his entire world comes crashing down around him, for as a guardian angel, a new charge can only mean one thing.

His Jessie, the girl he’s watched over from the moment of her birth, the human he’d been created to protect, is about to die.

Can he stand by and let her be destroyed? Or will he dare to do the unthinkable.

Dare to fall.

Jessica Martin doesn’t believe in happily ever after. Prince Charming is just a lie bought by starry-eyed women, and she’s far from that anymore.

No man has ever measured up to the one who lives in her imagination. With no real family, just temporary ones that came and went, she’s had few constants in her life, but the make-believe friend from her childhood has always been there for her. Always.

Too bad George isn’t real.

So when a mysterious man rescues her from danger, she can’t help but be suspicious. Her Good Samaritan is blond-haired, blue-eyed, and drop dead gorgeous, the complete embodiment of her perfect man, but he’s more than what he seems. The strange familiarity in his eyes, his touch…it shouldn’t be there.

What is he hiding?

***This erotic romance is approximately 43,500 words and is a stand-alone. Contains explicit sex/language. For mature readers only.***

Hot and steamy…

If there is an alpha male involved, I’m usually at the front of the queue. Though I wasn’t drawn to the cover, the blurb intrigued me enough to give it a go – and I’m so glad I did. With a paranormal bent, this story showcases Garon, a truly unique hero, who is sexy and attractive with a sensitive submissive side that totally works.

Garon, aka George, is a guardian angel who’s been looking after Jessica since the day she was born. Faced with the knowledge that she will die without his intervention he gives up everything he is for the woman he has loved his entire life. With such an incredible story, needless to say Jessie is not as quick to accept Garon. That conflict has to be dealt with quickly and is done through conversations amidst hot and heavy scenes between the two.

“As for the games…as I’ve shared, I don’t mind them,” he confessed shyly, his face heating at the admission. “I enjoy it when you tell me what to do.”

I have no idea how this incredibly strong, protective man can be as sensitive as this and be as hot and sexy at the same time. Believe me though, George pulls it off incredibly well – I am turning on the room fan in testament to that! He is alternatively innocent and gentle while the next moment scorching up the sheets to a hundred plus degrees. Not many books see the heroine the more experienced of the two though George makes up for it in enthusiasm. It sounds like a combination that shouldn’t work but oh, it definitely does!

While I liked Jessie, George is definitely my favorite of this couple and truly made the book for me. A satisfying ending but definitely would have loved this story to be longer.

Jennifer Leighton is just a girl pursuing the dream she’s had since she was fifteen years old and read her first romance novel.
