Review - Falling Under by Lauren Dane

Title: Falling Under
Series: Ink & Chrome #2
Author: Lauren Dane
Release Date: August 4, 2015

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Lauren Dane delivers the second book in her dark, gritty and romantic Ink & Chrome series

Duke Bradshaw, co-owner of the custom motorcycle shop Twisted Steel, is great with his hands and not afraid to get dirty . . . especially in his fantasies about his redheaded neighbor Carmella Rossi.

Carmella has been secretly lusting after her hot, tattooed neighbor for the last three years. His gravelly voice combined with the throaty purr of his custom bike never fails to send thrills down her spine. When Duke asks her to join him at the shop, she can't say no. Soon their days together spill over into nights that bring her pleasure beyond anything she imagined. But Carmella grew up with bikers, and knows how bad a bad boy can be. Can she put herself at risk for someone who has heart-breaker written all over him?

Duke Bradshaw is the co-founder and owner of Twisted Steel, a motorcycle shop that prides itself on the custom work it creates. When they need an office manager, he quickly scoops up his beautiful neighbor, Carmella Rossi, for the job. He’s been admiring her from afar and can’t wait to get to know her better.

Carmella had a lot of experience, having worked for her uncle’s shop for years, so she didn’t think she would have a hard time fitting in with the mechanics in the new shop. She wasn’t so sure about the incredibly attractive owner, though. Mixing business with pleasure was never a good idea but mix in her family situation? Well, she had to keep resisting because she wasn’t going to ruin a good thing over lust and tattoos!

“No matter what he said, he said it and made her hot and wet and tingly. On top of all those things? He had an amazing ass.”

I couldn’t wait for second book in the Ink & Chrome series and Duke and Carmella did not disappoint! Duke is everything one could hope for in a tattooed bad boy – strong, confident, playful, sexy and protective, and he can talk dirty all day long. He admires Carm for the beautiful, capable woman she is and working so closely together has only made her more appealing. The chemistry between the two is off-the-hotness-charts, with sexy play and raunchy talk coming from them both. Carm’s not afraid to show her desire and it is refreshing to see a woman so honest and open without having to wear leathers and a whip to get her meaning across!

“He was intense the same way watching a big wave safely from the shore was intense. And right then he looked at her like he wanted to spread her on a cracker and take a bite.”

Whether it’s raunchy whispers or straight talk about family problems, I love how they come to look to each other for support as someone who will always be in their corner. A very quiet, almost abrupt, ending didn’t take away from a story that entertained from start to finish. Can’t wait for more in this sexy, feel good series!

The story goes like this: While on pregnancy bed rest, Lauren Dane had plenty of down time, so her husband took her comments about "giving that writing thing a serious go" to heart and brought home a secondhand laptop. She wrote her first book on it. Today Lauren is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than 60 novels and novellas across several genres.
