Title: Dirty Lies
Series: The Burke Brothers #3
Author: Emma Hart
Release Date: October 12, 2015
Bad boy drummer Aidan Burke of Dirty B takes center stage in New York Times bestselling author Emma Hart’s hotly anticipated follow-up to Dirty Past and Dirty Secret!
Aidan Burke is the perfect rebound guy for Jessie Law after she catches her asshole ex-boyfriend with his hands down some other girl’s pants. The world-famous drummer of Dirty B isn’t shy about his preference for no-strings-attached relationships, so when she meets him on a night out, she takes him up on his simple proposal: One night of fun. Hot sex. Zero expectations.
But Dirty B’s tour is over, and they’re back in South Carolina—which means running into Aidan more often than Jessie would like.
When Aidan saves Jessie from her ex-boyfriend by insisting the two are dating, the band’s manager convinces them to keep up the charade in the hopes of re-inventing Dirty B’s image as lovable bad boys, as opposed to d-bags. Now all Aidan and Jessie have to do is put on a very obvious, very public show to convince everyone their affection is real.
But pretending to be in a relationship is harder than it seems. Aidan’s hordes of jealous fans have no problem bombarding Jessie with threatening messages online—and worse. And things only get more complicated when Jessie realizes her feelings for Aidan may not be so fake after all. Can Jessie live with the risks? And is Aidan willing to let her?
Another sexy home run for Emma Hart. The Burke Brothers do not disappoint—still sexy, dirty talkers, with magical fingers…among other parts!
Jessie's known the Burke boys before they became famous, and the one that has always stood out was Aidan, because of what he did to her. Jessie being Jessie has held on to that grudge since then. I loved how she didn't fangirl them when they came back into to town—instead she was just herself with them, especially Aidan.
Aidan, being the manwhore he is, has been warned to calm down and stop being in the ‘news’, so now he's back home, all he wants to do is just chill. And yet, when he sees Jessie he knows he won't be doing much chilling. Though, the one thing he wasn't expecting was to play the hero and come to Jessie's rescue when she's confronted by her ex-boyfriend. Something in him compelled him to be her hero...or so he thought.
I have to say that the interaction with Jessie and Aidan was hilarious at times but, more than anything, it was frustrating because how hard-headed Jessie was. She didn't like being the damsel in distress so she made sure she wasn't, yet Aidan couldn't help but being her "hero”—even when she made it clear she didn't need it. These two were like oil and water, and constantly at each other’s throats. I will also say that the chemistry between them is scorching hot and ‘I Hate You Sex’ is something I will have to find out about ;-)
Once again, Ms. Hart, another Burke Home Run!

Oh, Emma Hart, be still my heart… The boys from Dirty B are back! I’ve been anxiously awaiting Aidan’s story since the beginning with Dirty Secret. And, *sigh* Aidan didn’t disappoint.
Aidan is one sexy, swoony, hot, dirty-talking drummer. He’s looking forward to some downtime after being on tour for the past several months. He is out for some relaxation, fun times and one-night stands—no strings attached.
Well, that’s until he runs into Jessie Law at the bar and can’t keep his eyes off of her. Aidan finally manages to get through Jessie’s churlish charm and gets her to agree to one night of hot, no strings sex. The next morning, Aidan runs into Jessie again at her job and in an attempt to protect her from her pushy ex-boyfriend, Aidan pretends to be Jessie’s boyfriend. Unfortunately, Aidan’s declaration is said in front of some of the town’s biggest gossips, so the story spreads like wildfire.
The Dirty B boys have been trying to improve their image, and their manager convinces Aidan and Jessie to stick together—fake it for the cameras—merely a business relationship. Fake is all well and good until real feelings get involved. Will Aidan and Jessie “end it” as planned or will they fight to make it something “real”?
Dirty Lies, for me, was a bit of a challenge to get through. I really wanted to love it, and I did end up loving the last 25% or so, but the first 75% had me in fits. Let me tell you what I loved:
1) Mila. She’s wrapped her daddy and her uncles right around her chubby little finger and I can’t get enough of the adorable scene stealer.
2) The Dirty B boys. I love their brotherly relationships, how they love each other, support each other, nag each other. They’re brothers and they’ll be brothers through thick and thin.
3) The quiet moments between Aidan and Jessie. When they’re just doing random things and *ahem* sexy things, where they just let each other be, those moments are sweet and poignant.
But for all that I loved, there was a lot that I just really didn’t like…
1) Jessie as a whole. Her character, I think, was supposed to come across as sassy, bold, and take charge. Unfortunately, she was more bitchy, shrewish and bitter. And, where did she come from? She’s been friends with Sophie and Ella for years, and went to school with Aidan and Kye, but I don’t remember a mention of her name until this book.
2) Dropped story lines. Jessie’s ex and the manager stories never amounted to much.
3) The secret but not so secret “fake” relationship. There was missed opportunity after missed opportunity for Aidan and Jessie to have to “validate” their relationship.
I love Emma Hart and her writing. I am looking forward to Kye’s book due out early next year. I just think this was a bit of a miss in an otherwise excellent series.

By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to two beautiful little monsters. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of whatever she fancies - usually wine - and writes books.
Emma is working on Top Secret projects she will share with her followers and fans at every available opportunity. Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.
She likes to be busy - unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.
