Blog Tour - Elicit by Rachel Van Dyken

Title: Elicit
Series: Eagle Elite #4
Author: Rachel Van Dyken
Release Date: August 11, 2014

Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted...my name is Tex Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right along with him.

I crave war more than peace, and I'm about to take my place in history as the youngest Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra...that is until someone stops me, saves me from myself.

But the only person able to do that...is my best friends sister, Mo Abandanato, and she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets through it.

I'm cursed so I did it.
I'm numb so I held it.
I'm wicked so I liked it.

I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare--the five families greatest enemy. It's my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I'm going to lose my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I've always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.

Blood Always Wins.

The only way out is death...yours.

Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family.

"Being in the mafia is like playing house. Everything is fine until someone pulls out a gun."

She did it again.  Rachel Van Dyken walked me into the mafia madness and made me fall in love with another couple from this series.

Young mafia men are hotter than ever. The girls are tough as nails. The one liners are hilarious.

"..I just hold a gun to his man parts, and he suddenly becomes so much more agreeable."

Elicit is mainly the story of Monroe (Mo) and Tex. Ah, Tex. 6'4", red head, made of steel, quick witted, hilarious, naughty...teddy bear. Poor Tex is put through the ringer in this book. But he is oh, so adorable along the way. I have to say, I love EVERY character in this series. (Chase is my favorite :)) There are some new people in Elicit that I hope we read about in the next couple books in the Eagle Elite series!

P.S. There was something HUGE I never saw coming....I actually GASPED out loud. You are in for a ride with this one.

Something I always look forward too in a Rachel Van Dyken book is her words of wisdom through the characters. No matter the story line or situations. Even with the mafia shooting and stabbing people left and right in this book, there is always a message.

"Life always presents opportunities for redemption."

"...in the end your life is about choices, they either make or break you, don't let your past destroy your future. "

5 (blood in, blood out) stars!

“What?” I asked wincing as the pain was starting to travel up my leg.
“Not here.” She sighed. “We need to go to your room I need you to lie down.”
Chase chuckled. “If I had a dollar—”
“What?” Mil gave him an I–will-kill-you expression. “Really, I’m dying to know.”
“Then…” Chase looked at me helplessly. “I’d only have a dollar?”
“Good answer.”
“Shit,” he mumbled under his breath.
“Come on.” Mil stood. “We’ll help you guys take Tex to his room.”
“I’m fine.” I grumbled standing again only to fall back in my chair.
“Aw, he’s like a baby giraffe.” Chase clapped. “All wobbly like.”
“Can I at least be a baby tiger?” I pleaded. “My pride and all that.”
“Baby tigers are so cute.” Mil grinned.
“Just kidding. I want to be a baby tarantula.”
“Too late.” Mil sighed happily. “Baby tiger it is.”
Mo hid a smile behind her hand before grabbing the kit. Chase moved to the side of the chair and helped me to my feet. “Try not to like my touch too much, man. Remember I’m married.”
“I’ll try to keep my penis at bay.” I said dryly.
“That’s really all I ask.” Chase grunted as he helped me walk down the hall. “Well that and keeping it in your pants.”
“I can’t even walk, I won’t rape you, dude.”
“One can never be too cautious,” Chase sang.
Once we were in my room, Chase dropped me onto the bed. It squeaked under my weight.
