I fell in love with this story immediately. The characters and their situations grabbed me in the first chapter and never let go. This book has a little bit of everything. Love, loss, mystery and who doesn't love a crazy ex in the mix?! Along with a great message of survival and restoring yourself.
"...our life experiences make us who we are, mold us, shape our perspective and since you cant run from your past, you move forward."
Nic and Hope are both at raw spots in their lives when they meet. But their connection is adorable even though they are both hesitant to love again. The Louisiana setting is fun, warm and well... just perfect. Rose and Big Daddy (with their backwoods cajun accent and attitude) are two unforgettable characters.

Wow, this story had a bit of everything and it held your attention right from the beginning and you didn't want to put it down till you came to the end. I started this book late in the evening and might have gone to bed around 1:30 a.m. because I had to see how it ended.
When you meet Hope your heart goes out to her because you realize she's been through hell & back and is still not in the clear. Nic, as well is fighting his own personal demons that haunt him everyday and feeling responsible for his loss. When Nic & Hope lay eyes on each other there is an instant attraction and they both decide to resist it. Little do they realize, that when love & Rose get a hold of them, it's futile to resist it. We get to see the resistance on both of their parts, that is until Nic decides he's giving in but Hope continues to fight against their attraction. I must say when she finally allows herself to give in to happiness it's beautiful.
There is plenty of mystery, suspense, drama, a crazy ex and plenty of passion and the sex scenes were intensely scorching. I also realized now I need to practice my french again **fanning myself**. C.P.Smith you have a new follower here and I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us!
