Trailer

Excerpt

Everything is bitter, the cold outside, the taste of blood in my mouth, and the sting of his belt. My foster father screams at me as he chases me out the door and through the blinding snow. The dark night doesn’t hide my tears for my ex-boyfriend Ashe lying cold and stiff on the concrete of an abandoned building where I left him alone.

I still can’t believe I just left him, but what was I supposed to do? The police would somehow blame me for Ashe’s death. I’ve already had a few scrapes with the law stealing food for me and my half-starved foster sister Mia. She’s only six, but so far, Schafe hasn’t laid a hand on her or the others, just me. The other foster kids fend for themselves and stay out of his way. I'm the only dumb one who provokes him. I can’t help it. He’s an asshole, and I’ll be damned if I’ll continuously allow him to treat me like shit.

She licks those luscious lips, slightly parting them. I want to taste them. I want to dive right in, even when I know it’s quicksand.

That same look of loneliness and pain open up to me. She blinks a few times and lures me into her with her expectant gaze. Her pull on me is strong. I close my eyes to resist, but her feminine scent overpowers me.

When I open my eyes, she chews on her lower lip, waiting on me to do something. I’ve been attracted to angels before but not like this. Ever since I first laid eyes on her, I haven’t really stopped thinking about River. My mind has worked over every word, every breath, and every curve of her body, committing them to memory. Last night, I used my hands to feel and carve her depth and shape her tragic beauty into stone.

I use my knee to spread her legs, cloaked in black stockings, and slip between them. Her skirt hitches up, and I know she’s receptive to me, even though she wore the skirt for Noah. I don’t like that she did that for him. I cannot lose her, and I can’t even explain why.

I tilt her chin back to expose the soft, creamy flesh of her neck. Her breathing increases, and I descend to those succulent lips. My tongue dives into her mouth, and she flicks hers against mine.

She moans and returns my kiss, deep and filled with longing. God, I want her. No angel has ever come onto me this strong, and I’ve never been with any woman who is younger than me. I normally take my time, not only for me but mostly for them.

Author: Diana Downey
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: October 25, 2016

Blurb

What happens when the spoilt Texas heiress falls for Mr. Wrong—the untamed, virile man from Alaska, especially now that he’s flat broke and so is she?

Cyn was looking for a rich, cultured Prince Charming, but after spending a week with Shane in the Alaskan Interior, she discovered sophistication and charm are overrated compared to a wild ride in bed. Now that she’s back in Texas, she has set her sights on Shane but must find a job to support herself and her little sister Willa. When she’s approached about the Riches to Rags reality TV show, she jumps at the chance to earn enough money to keep her sister Willa in a private school and her closet filled with designer label shoes.

If Shane wasn’t Mr. Wrong before, he certainly is now. He must work with the feds or face serious prison time for the millions of back taxes he owes. As part of their deal, he must squeeze his ex-fiancĂ©e for information, and they aren’t just talking about holding hands. That’s a serious problem for Shane because he cannot forget Cyn, the saucy Latina lighting up the cold nights in Alaska.

Sexy Thriller with a dash of satire and humor for 18 and older.

Excerpt

“Are you okay?” I barely get out. Did someone suck all the air off the planet because I can barely catch my breath?

“More than fine. Just visiting me da.” He raises the flask to me and croons in that husky Irish brogue. “Would yer like some?”

“No thanks.” I glance at the gravestone, which pretty much says Dallas was the single party hound whom Fay described. “I’m asking because Dallas is my half sister’s uncle, and he supposedly doesn’t have any children.”

He chuckles. “Well, I’ll be damned. I’m a bastard. Would’ve never thought that.” He swings his flask. “Here’s to yer, Da.”

His drinking scares me. “You aren’t driving are you?”

“I’ll be sleeping here tonight with me dear ole da. I think he’d like that.” He drinks some more and almost hits his head on the stone. “Yer see, he left all his millions to the Humane Society, and even took his dog with him, so he wouldn’t have to give a dime or his dog to us. Never paid a cent to me ma, and I liked the dog. I would’ve taken the dog.” He burps rather loudly.

“You should let us drive you home. I’m Willa. If Dallas is your dad, then you’re my cousin through marriage.” I look at him, expecting a name. He should be home in bed.

“Aedan. Are we kissing cousins?” He winks both eyes at me.

“We just met,” I say, his comment causing me to stumble backward. Now I really can’t breathe.

“Tis a shitty day, but I know how to make it better.” He stands up and towers over me, and I’m not short. His lips curl into a devilish grin, and he teeters on his feet.

Jittery nerves flutter in my stomach. He’s not as big as Shane, but he’s big.

His grin widens, and he rubs that sexy bearded chin. “Kiss a pretty girl. That’ll make my day.” Both his hands clasp my face, and his eyes sparkle with devious intent. He swoops down and lands his lips on my unsuspecting ones.

The beard growth scratches my chin. I taste the Irish whiskey on his tongue, and the scent of pure male, musky with a hint of soap, fills my nose. And to my surprise, my body really likes his roughness, especially the taste of him.

My legs give out, and his hand repositions to my waist. I’m melting, pooling into a puddle by his intense kiss. The song Kiss by Prince plays in my head. That has never happened when I’ve hooked lips with a boy. I’m hearing music, which could be worse than voices.

Shane O’Flannery is no Prince Charming.

He is uncouth, uncultured, untrainable.

Damn this man! How dare he humiliate Texas heiress Cynthia Diaz by turning her down, even if she was underage at the time?

When Shane first meets Cyn, his attraction to this frustratingly hot, flirtatious spitfire almost gets him into trouble when he discovers she’s only sixteen. He cannot forget the temptingly sweet taste of this woman-child, so for two years he does his damnedest to avoid this young siren.

Excerpt

Mrs. Duncan sitting on the other side of Shane chokes on her asparagus. After she recovers, she asks, “How did it go today with you and Trevor?”

She’s bringing up my ex-boyfriend on purpose. Bitch. I put on my game face before wiping off the disdain from my lips and turning toward her. I lean across Shane, so only he and Trevor’s mom can hear, letting my breast sheathed only in silk rest on his bare arm. He literally stops breathing, and I smile at my small victory.

“Trevor and I broke up. He stole my virginity, and the sex sucked and maybe a real man, like Shane, could make up for it.”

“Cynthia,” she scolds. It takes her a full minute to recover while Shane laughs heartily.

“Trevor really likes you,” she says, but I know my sister Fay has the suitable pedigree.

I smile. “No, he doesn’t. Otherwise, he would’ve satisfied me.”

Shane’s not sorry at all. He’s grinning and slips his hand onto the back of my chair, which sends a flurry of evil eyes my way from Fay and Mrs. Duncan and the other women in the room. Shane isn’t even Fay’s type, let alone mine.

He leans down and whispers, “You’re certainly a spitfire. If your mom weren’t here, I’d take you home and guarantee your satisfaction.”

My body lights up at the promise of sexual gratification. Shane definitely thinks I’m older. I gaze up and down this man’s stealth-like body and know he can deliver. I wiggle in my seat to open up a bit more breast flesh for Shane’s enjoyment, and he does take a few unrepentant peeks.

“What year are you in college?” Shane asks, his fingers leaving a trail of burning coals on my skin while he uses his other hand to swig his beer.

Fay laughs while I glance at Mom to see if I can get away with a white lie. She gives a small shake of the head.

I sigh. “I’m sixteen, but I turn seventeen in another two months.”

“Sixteen?” he spits out a mouthful of beer. “Fuck,” he mutters under his breath. He’s so flustered he tips over a water glass, yet saves it before hardly any spills.

When he looks at me, like I just contracted herpes, I want to crawl under the table, but instead, I sit up straighter. He started this or maybe I did, but he joined right in.
