Review - A Taste of Sugar by Marina Adair

Title: A Taste of Sugar
Series: Sugar, Georgia #3
Author: Marina Adair
Release Date: August 25, 2015

From the author of the nationally bestselling St. Helena Vineyard series and the Heroes of St. Helena series comes a sexy new book from Marina Adair set in Sugar, Georgia...

A blast from her past . . .
Charlotte Holden, Sugar's favorite pediatrician, knows better than anyone that love only leads to heartbreak. Instead, she's focused on creating the Grow Clinic, an outpatient center for children. All she has to do now is to host the best Founder's Day Parade in the history of Sugar, Georgia, to win over a big-city donor. Easy as peach pie. Then sexy Jace McGraw blows back into town and utters those three words every woman dreads: we're still married.

. . . leads to tantalizing trouble
Jace McGraw was making an offer on his dream business in Atlanta when he was told that his wife had some credit issues. Wait, his wife? The annulment went through years ago-or so he thought. He'd walked away only to keep his troublemaker reputation from ruining her dreams. But now that they have a second chance, Jace offers Charlotte a deal: he'll grant a discreet divorce in exchange for 30 days and nights of marriage. Because this time he isn't going to let her go without a fight.

Oh, Sweet Sugar! I fall in love with the sweet, Southern town of Sugar every time we go back. And those sexy as sin McGraw brothers sure make it worth each visit!

This is the third story that takes place in Sugar, Georgia. It focuses on the youngest McGraw, Jace. Jace is a gruff, tattooed, rough around the edges mechanic. He is also a runner; he doesn’t set down roots and doesn’t call any place home. Four years ago, in a whirlwind romance, he married Dr. Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Holden. After three weeks, they got an annulment and moved on. Jace leaves town and Charlotte moves back to Sugar. However, a misstep during the original annulment means they are technically still married.

The connection between the Jace and Charlie is undeniable.

“Only one touch, and she was kissing him back. No hesitation, no second-guessing, just – pow – debutante to seductress. Not interested to tongue down his throat in two seconds flat.”

So after learning that they are still married, Jace decides he is going to be the husband he was meant to be, even if it’s only for a few weeks.

“I’m not giving up. I was given three more weeks of being your husband, and I am going to be the kind of husband my dad was, the kind of husband you deserve, the kind of husband I should have been before.”

Only he has to convince Charlotte to give him a second chance after breaking her heart.

This story was sweet and sexy. It was touching and emotional. It was a story of second chances and the power of true love. I loved every minute of it! I adore the small town feel and really enjoyed being able to see and catch up with the other McGraw brothers and their girls, as well as the other town folk.

I am in love with this small town of Sugar! I want to go there and meet swoon-worthy, sexy McGraw men who will turn my world upside down!

Sugar on Top focused on Glory and Cal. We saw both of them in Sugar’s Twice as Sweet and it was so good to find out their stories.

Glory had a really rough childhood, but she didn’t give up and had the biggest heart. Cal has taken care of everyone else for the last twenty years and never takes anything for himself. Thrown together through some silly circumstances, and the chemistry just flies. The sexual tension between them was intense.

“Have you been in a room with my dad?” No, but she’d been in his truck and what she’d learned about him, she’d liked. A lot. But she didn’t think that was what Payton meant…

And when they finally give into their attraction it is sexy!!

This story was funny.

“Glory’s final attempt at finding true love had been with a guy who suffered from penile ADHD.”

I had a smile on my face at least 75% of the time I was reading. It was sweet, romantic, had its fill of drama, and I couldn’t put it down. I love all the quirkiness of small town life and all the secondary characters. Ms. Adair’s ability to weave a story that is both sexy and sweet is fantastic! I absolutely cannot wait to read Charlotte and Jace’s story next!

Sugar’s Twice as Sweet is a charming, enjoyable, romantic read with a bit of sexy thrown in.  There was quite a bit of humor too.

“Sweet mother of God. Her mouth went dry. Which was the exact opposite of what was going on in her panties.”

We meet Josephina, aka Joie, a Yankee girl who found out her fiancée was cheating on her for a year. With no options she flees to the small southern town of Sugar, where she used to spend summers as a child with her Aunt Letty. Her aunt had left her the Fairfield House and she was determined to turn it into an inn. We also meet Brett, the PGA playboy who is also a swoon worthy, cowboy hat wearing, true southern gentleman. The two had history from long ago and the chemistry between them is undeniable.

“Aw, sugar,” Brett groaned, his head falling back. “You keep that up and it will be over in three seconds, and I want to do this right. In a bed. Taking my time. Loving you all night.

Of course a small southern town lives for gossip and feuds. Joie had her hands full with the “bible group” of her aunt’s best friends. And falling for their hometown hero didn’t help her any. Change is hard for anybody of any age and together the town learned how to change for the better.

This was a story of second chances, believing in yourself, and living life balls to the wall. It was sweet, sexy, and very entertaining!!
