Nathan is a military man turned secret agent who is cool and competent in every situation. Amelia knew him when they were teenagers and seeing him again brings back all the feelings from that time—the best and the worst.
This is the fifth in the series and the stories are only getting better. Amelia is haunted by how things were left between her and Nathan, and when she gets a chance to get closure, it is a painful but liberating experience. She is an edgy character, smart and committed to doing the right thing. She approaches the situation with caution but also trusts her own instincts when it comes to love and life-threatening situations. Nathan is a tantalizing mix of protective alpha and vulnerability. He struggles to do right by his employer, who gave him a second chance, plus the woman he loved and never forgot.
Sexy and full of tension this was a great read from start to finish!
