Review ~ The Empty Jar by M. Leighton

Title: The Empty Jar
Author: M. Leighton
Release Date: May 8, 2016

Three months touring Europe.
Romantic. Dazzling. Unforgettable.
The trip of a lifetime.

But some lifetimes are shorter…

We couldn’t have known it would work out this way. No one could. No one could’ve guessed that something so beautiful could be so tragic.

But it is tragic.
Yet so, so beautiful.

That’s what sacrifice is—beauty and tragedy.
It’s pain and suffering for something or someone you love.

And this is the ultimate sacrifice.
One stunning act of true love.

This is our story.

Our true love story.

This personal note is something the author asked that we share with you:

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

This book is not a romantic fairy tale. Yet, it’s the most romantic story I’ve ever told. It’s a journey of pain and loss, of hope and happiness. It’s both achingly tragic and exquisitely beautiful. It’s a love story. A true love story about real love. The kind that sees you through the night and holds you when you cry. The kind that won't give up and never lets go. The kind we all dream about and few find. But it’s real. I promise you, it’s real. I’ve seen this kind of love, and I've seen this kind of heartbreak. I got to see it up close and personal, and quite honestly, I will never be the same. I hope it changes you as much as it changed me.

And the greatest of these is love.

—This is what has been running through my head all day. The feels, oh, the feels! I’m not going to flail about because I don’t have the energy. I’ve used almost all the tissues in my house, and that says a lot since I’m recovering from a cold and I stocked up. Let me tell you, it will be years, if ever, before I forget about this book. And the way it made me feel… My heart beating out of my chest, the tears pouring down my face, the laughs, the love, and so much more.

What a beautifully perfect story of real love and living our vows. I've never been married. But today I find myself in need of hope. Ms. Leighton, I found it in the words on the pages of your superbly written story, a journey that will help so many. This book is so much more than a story, it's an emotional journey that gives hope to those who need it and a light to guide the way.

Nate and Lena’s story tells about truth and honor and communication. It’s about unfailing love and the desire to take care of those in your life your heart cares for. Adventure and intimacy. It’s about faith, hope and love.

I can’t tell you more, because I don’t want to spoil it. I want you to read it for yourself. Get lost in the words on the page. Let them settle into your heart and your soul. Be open to the change that will occur when you read The Empty Jar. Be honest with yourself. Believe in love. Trust the journey. Trust in your faith, whatever it is. Trust in love.

The Empty Jar is a beautiful and poignant love story that will transcend the ages. Fill your jar, never leave it empty! 10 loving stars!

Review - Brave Enough by M. Leighton

Title: Brave Enough
Series: Tall, Dark, and Dangerous #3
Author: M. Leighton
Release Date: April 5, 2016

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes another dark, sexy story…

Is she brave enough to give her heart to a man she only thought she knew?

He was the most charismatic man I’d ever met. Strong, tough, brave. Bold as hell. Something told me Tag Barton could have anything—anyone—he wanted...and he wanted me. It didn’t matter that he was wrong for me in practically every way possible. It didn’t matter that my father would hate it.

I couldn’t resist him. Even if I’d known who he really was and what he was really capable of.

When he suggested we pretend to be engaged, I thought he was the answer to all my problems. He wasn’t. And, in his wake, he left nothing but scorched earth and me, just another casualty of my father’s war.

Can I believe him now when he tells me he loves me? Or is he nothing more than a beautiful, breathtaking lie?

Brave Enough is the third in the Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series and I absolutely loved it! This is the story of Tag and Weatherly.

Tag is another of the ex-Special forces group, and is currently working on the vineyard that Weatherly’s wealthy family owns. The two have an undeniable attraction the moment they met and it is scorching hot!

“Within minutes of talking to Tag today, I quickly surmised that he’s dangerous. To hearts, to minds. Certainly to panties. Mine feel in danger of combusting just watching him…”

The two enter into a fun-only relationship, both trying to forget real life. And since Tag wants to help Weatherly, he pretends to be her fiancĂ©e when her over-protective father is trying to force her into a marriage for business.

“What I prefer, what I want, is an exotic, dark-haired beauty who tempts me before she pushes me away, who tells me no with her lips and yes with her eyes. What I want is everything that’s within an arm’s reach and all that is a thousand miles out of my grasp.”

So, what happens when two people who can’t get enough of each other end up falling for real? And when secrets start being revealed, who comes out with their heart intact?

I loved this third installment of the series. I adored Weatherly and her strength, her ability to love. Tag was another swoon-worthy, talk, dark, and dangerous man that could dirty talk to me anytime! I really enjoyed seeing so much of Rogan and Katie from book two as well. I look forward to more work from Ms. Leighton!

A brave, romantic, white hot, L.O.V.E. The chemistry between Mr. Tall, Dark, and Dangerous and Weatherly O’Neal is intoxicating!!

Weatherly O’Neal is the daughter of a powerful man. Tag Barton is the opposite of what her father wants for her. But when she falls hard and fast for Mr. TDD, her life will forever be changed!

Now let me say, there are positions, places and times I’d like to get my groove on after reading Brave Enough! M. Leighton drew me in from the very beginning! This book was unputdownable—and yes, I know that isn’t a word, but that’s what it was for me. From the moment I started I didn’t eat, sleep or stop until I was finished. Time moved at a speed I never noticed. I was so absorbed in the world of Chiara that there was no stopping.

There’s an element of mystery, deceptiveness, white hot sex, and more. I’d consider jumping around, but I’ve decided I’m better served shouting from the rooftops, that if you haven’t read any of the Tall, Dark, and Dangerous books, you should start now and catch up, because this one isn’t to be missed!!

Review - Tough Enough by M. Leighton

Title: Tough Enough
Series: Tall, Dark, and Dangerous #2
Author: M. Leighton
Release Date: November 3, 2015

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes the second book in a dark, sexy contemporary trilogy.

He’s a fighter who never loses, but is he tough enough to win her heart?

There was a time when I had everything–a wonderful family, a bright future. Love. But all that was taken away in a single night, torn from me like flesh from bone. Since then, I’ve hidden away in my second-choice job as a makeup artist. But I prefer it that way, actually. I’m comfortable in the shadows, where no one can see my scars.

Kiefer Rogan literally took my breath away the moment I met him. MMA champion-turned-actor, notorious playboy, charming to a fault—he’s everything I vowed to avoid.

But he just wouldn’t stop until I opened up and let him in. Maybe I should’ve tried harder to resist him. Maybe I shouldn’t have fallen in love with him. Because I, of all people, know that everyone has secrets. Scars. And that they’re usually ugly and painful and destructive to the people we love most.

I just never guessed that they could be deadly, too.

Tough Enough made my heart beat fast, tears run from my eyes and my heart break… And then, it was put back together.

Katie has lived a hard life. She suffered at the hands of a monster and has reinvented herself as a way to survive. Rogan is a Hollywood star who recognizes something in her, and won’t take no for an answer. I couldn’t read this book fast enough. From when I started it, to the moment I finished it, the expanse of time was short. Just a mere four hours or so. It didn’t feel like that long—I was transported to the town of Enchantment, where both our Hero and Heroine take refuge.

It was easy for me to fall in love with Katie because I have many of her same thoughts and feelings. She’s real and relatable, and I love her growth throughout the book. Rogan is hot, hunky and semi-unobtainable? But is he really? If you are true lover of love stories, this is for you! The feels are off the charts. There’s a bit of mystery to keep you interested if you need it also. Now, where’s my real life Rogan?
~ Review by Heather

Wow! This book just blew me away! It was such a sweet, emotional journey!

This is the second book in the Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series and I loved it even more than the first. It is Keifer Rogan’s story. Keifer had a hard life growing up, but overcame all of that to become a champion MMA fighter and actor.

“Fight to survive. Fight to live.”

Katie Ryland has also had a hard life. She is hiding herself and her secrets in a small town called Enchantment working as a make-up artist. She is quiet, shy, and doesn’t open up easily.

Rogan is one of the many actors to grace Katie’s chair. But from the very first time, she can tell that he is different. Slowly, he helps Katie open up and trust again. It was such an amazing transformation!

This book really had it all! It was sexy and sweet. The chemistry between Katie & Rogan was off the charts hot.

“I could drink come from you like wine. Sweet, creamy wine. But not this time. This time,” he explains, his voice gruff and sexy, “I wanna feel you squeezin’ my cock when you come.”

It was sad and emotional; learning both Katie’s and Rogan’s secrets was hard, but it really helped you see why they are the way they are. It had action and drama. I read it in one sitting and couldn’t get enough! I loved that we got to see some of Jasper and Muse, as well as Tag—I can’t wait for Tag’s book next!

Review - Strong Enough by M. Leighton

Title: Strong Enough
Series: Tall, Dark, and Dangerous #1
Author: M. Leighton
Release Date: August 4, 2015

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes the first in a dark, sexy contemporary trilogy.

Is she strong enough to trust the most dangerous man she’s ever met? And is he strong enough to let her?

How would I describe myself? Well, I’m Muse Harper. I’m a twenty-something painter who loves red wine, quirky movies, and men with a fatal flaw. But that was before I met Jasper King. He became my fatal flaw. Eight months ago, I had a choice to make—abandon everything I’ve ever known to protect my family, or stay and risk someone getting hurt. I chose the former. My plan was working just fine until I found out my father had gone missing.

That’s when I met Jasper. A bounty hunter with the eyes of a tiger and the nose of a bloodhound, he was supposed to help me find my father. What I didn’t know was that meeting him was no accident. Hunting people isn’t all that Jasper does. And helping me was only part of his plan. I just wish I’d found out sooner, before my heart got involved. But even then, I don’t know if I’d have done things differently.

Now, I have another choice to make—trust the man that I’m falling in love with and hope that he’ll do the right thing, or run as far away from him as I can get.

Wow! This book took me on a roller coaster ride. It sucked me in and wouldn’t let me go until I read it all. Even when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it.

Strong Enough is the first book in the Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series and those three words are perfect to describe it. Jasper is not only talk, dark, and dangerous, but he is deep, brooding, and closed off. The prologue of his life had me in tears and I couldn’t wait to find out the rest of his story.

Living a cold, lonely life, Jasper does one thing extremely well and that is kill. He is called in to help a “friend” find her father. But he has an ulterior motive. Muse is unlike any one he has ever met.

“She’s all sweet allure and wild abandon mixed with the irresistible tang of forbidden fruit.”

He is insanely attracted to her and though he knows he should, he can’t resist her.

“What do I want from you? I want your moans in my mouth. I want your fingernails on my skin. I want your naked body against mine.”

You can actually feel the connection between Jasper and Muse. It is electric, sexy, and uncontrollable. Their scenes together are erotic, yet sinister.

“It’s hardly fair that the only taste I crave is the inside of your mouth. It’s hardly fair that I go to bed thinking about you or that I wake up aching for you. It’s hardly fair that I want you so bad my cock feels like it’s going to explode. But, then again, whoever said life was fair?”

Strong Enough was so beautifully written. I found myself highlighting passage after passage as I just loved how the words flowed together. This story was full of secrets and suspense. It was full of darkness and light. You really need to read it and watch Jasper learn how to feel again. I cannot wait for the second book to find out more answers and get Rogan’s story.
~ Review by Tiffany

Strong Enough by M. Leighton knocked my off my socks with the suspense! She mastered the art of anticipation, romance and driving need.

When Muse can’t get a hold of her father on the regularly scheduled day and time she hires Jasper King to help her locate him. Her gut tells her that he’s alright but it’s a matter of finding him. But what she discovers is not what she anticipated… Jasper King is dark, broody, a man of few words and exceptionally hot - the type that sets your panties aflame.

Strong Enough was an intense, fast paced, page turner. I found myself wanting to hurry through it to find out what happened and yet, slow down so it wouldn’t end. M. Leighton wove a perfect tale that has me chomping at the bit, ready for more. I’m not certain I’ve gotten enough yet!
