Blog Tour - Deep by Kylie Scott

Title: Deep
Series: Stage Dive #4
Author: Kylie Scott
Publisher: Macmillan
Release Date: March 31, 2015

Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins' ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the irresistibly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben's the only man she's ever met who can make her feel completely safe, cherished, and out of control with desire at the same time? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn't looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.

Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She's his best friend's little sister now, and no matter how hot the chemistry is between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he's not going to go there. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he's always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible...but will it lead to a connection of the heart?

What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas, right? Not so true for Ben Nicholson and Lizzy Rollins.

Lizzy has had the hots for Ben since the first time she met him. He’s big, bad and oh so very hot. She’s determined to make Ben hers, even if just for one night.

Ben has been warned—Lizzy is off limits. He’s an eternal bachelor. He’ll scratch his itch with one night stands, but don’t try to tie him down. He’s been told to stay away from Lizzie until one night he just can’t.

But that one night has now led to a positive pregnancy test. Will Ben give up his bachelor ways to be an involved father? Can Lizzy handle being a single parent if Ben falls through?

What a fantastic end to the Stage Dive Series by Kylie Scott. I loved this book. Lizzy is so young and clueless until she’s forced to grow up with the positive pregnancy test. Loved her interactions with her sister, Anne and Mal, her brother in law, especially while Ben was acting like an idiot. I couldn’t help but cheer Lizzy on each time she tried to get through to thick headed Ben.

And Ben. Oh Ben. You selfish bastard and consummate playboy. Time to grow up. Time to realize you’re responsible for more than just yourself. It took him a little while to get it together—a couple of fights with Mal and the band were needed to knock some sense into him. I wanted to shake him a couple of times because he was so frustrating hiding behind his “busy schedule” and failure to take any time with Lizzy. I loved how his “brothers”—the rest of the Stage Dive crew—were always there for the two of them. David, Jimmy, Mal, Ev, Anne, and Lena were there each step of the way. Even when extremely pissed off, the family still stood by Ben and Lizzy through each and every stupid decision and fight. Just like regular family.

“C’mon. How have you been, really? What’s been going on with you?” he pushed. I frowned at him and he frowned right back. “Liz, please.”

I groaned in defeat. “All right, I suck.”

“Why do you suck?”

“So very many reasons.” I pushed my hair back from my face—no more hiding. “Pregnancy sucks. It’s natural, my ass. I finally stop throwing up, but I’m tired all the time. Giving up coffee was horrendous. None of my clothes fit right because of these stupid breasts, and they ache constantly. I have to pee like every thirty seconds, and then to top it off, I cry every time the Healthy Hound ad comes on. It’s ridiculous”

Little wrinkles appeared either side of his nose. “You cry at a dog food ad?”

“Yes. The puppies jump all over each other to get to their mother and it’s just so beautiful, with their cute little tails wagging and everything.”

He just stared at me.

“I know its psycho, Ben. Believe me, I’m well aware of this.”

“Hey, it’s fine.” He covered a smile with his hand. Too late, the bastard.

“You try dealing with all these hormones going apeshit. Crap. Apeshoot.”

“Apeshoot?”

“I’m trying not to swear,” I explained. “You want the first word our child comes out with to be something bad?”

“No. Gotcha.” The man was incredibly bad at hiding a grin. “No swearing.”

Stay up all night with the sexy rockers in Stage Dive, the epic rock star romance series from New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott, author of Lick and Play.

As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it's booze, drugs, or women. However, when a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call about his life and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant to keep him out of trouble.

Lena's not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when Jimmy pushes her too far and Lena leaves, he realizes that he may just have lost the best thing that ever happened to him.

Lead by Kylie Scott was a fantastic read! Ms. Scott is a brilliant writer, and has an amazing ability to bring unique and quirky characters to life. I fell head over heels for David in Lick, enjoyed Mal’s antics in Play, and learned to love Jimmy in Lead. And that is just the men! Ms. Scott also is able to create fabulous, strong and wonderful women. Lena is the epitome of sassy and sexy, a woman I could relate to, and exactly the type of best friend material every girl would want.

I have to admit that in the first two books, Jimmy intimidated me. He was pegged as the black sheep of Stage Dive, an unknown factor, and a bit of a live wire. Before beginning Lead I wasn’t sure about how I would feel about Jimmy, but by the end Ms. Scott made me a convert. I am a total Jimmy fan-girl now! The third book in the Stage Dive series delves into his life and unveils the underlying issues that make Jimmy who he is, yet still keeps him a bit of a mystery. We discover Jimmy through Lena, who is hired as a sobriety companion to keep him in check. She doesn’t take shit from anyone and sticks to her guns, and thus is able to get through to Jimmy like no one else previously.

Lena and Jimmy prove the old adage that there is a fine line between love and hate – the initial dislike and tension between them created the basis for a hot relationship. Their banter is terrific, downright hilarious at times, and talk about chemistry! This book has it in spades. It is an excellent slow burn, and the anticipation definitely pays off!

“Someone banged on the front door. Huh, that’s right, we had a visitor outside waiting in the storm. All while we wrestled it out in a pseudo-sexual manner on the front entry floor. Excellent.”

I loved that Lead felt completely new and different than Lick and Play while still showcasing the band and their crazy dynamics. Ms. Scott has perfectly made each character, relationship, and story in the series feel fresh and new, with a life of its own. It was great to see glimpses of Ev, David, Anne and Mal, and once again be integrated into their lives. All I can say is that Lead is a must read for all Stage Dive fans, and I cannot wait to get my hands on Ben’s book!!

I am going to be honest, I have not read this series yet, so coming in on book 3 I was a little hesitant. Not sure whether I would be able to follow what was going on. Let me tell you.....I LOVED IT! This is probably the first book I have read where the female lead is a take no shit bad ass woman! Lena come out strong willed from page one and I enjoyed her throughout the entire book. Most of the time the guy usually takes the domineering role. Lena holds her own in this book and I found it refreshing.

"You know where you can shove the list. And if you need help, let me just fetch a rubber glove and some lube and I'll be right with you." - Lena

Rock star Jimmy will have you swooning and the duo together, make for one incredibly funny and sexy story. I will say there is sexual tension in the book. You will find yourself going, "DO IT ALREADY!" And I will tell you this, when they do.....IT IS HOT. Kylie Scott definitely knows how to write sex.

"What are you doing now?"
"What people do at tables." Strong hands held my legs apart. "Eating."

I am giving Lead 5 sweet, funny and sexy stars. Like I said, I haven't read the first 2 in the series and I didn't feel lost at all. That being said, I plan on going back right now and reading them.....

One of my most anticipated reads of 2014 was Play by Kylie Scott and she did not disappoint her fans. I loved the first book of the series, Lick and I can say without a doubt I love Play too. Ms. Scott knows how to write a rock and roll romance. She did a fabulous job in Play incorporating humor, friendship, family, and love.

Play is Mal Ericson’s story. He is Stage Dive’s drummer and has no problem in the female department. Sex, drugs, alcohol, parties, ladies, and endless groupies is a life for any rockstar. But what if the scene gets old and tiring and the only way to remedy that is a new image. For Mal Ericson, he needs a good girl to clean up his playboy image and Anne Rollins is just that woman.

Play_3.jpg
Anne Rollins is friends with Ev, the wife of David Ferris, another member of the band of Stage Dive. When Anne finds herself at a party hosted by Ev and David, she did not expect meeting her crush rock legend, Mal would end up changing her life. Anne is a good girl. She is too trusting and puts others before herself. When Anne trusted the wrong friend, she is left with a financial burden. Well Mal comes up with an easy solution, he will take care of her finances in exchange she plays the role of a “girlfriend.” Did I also mention Mal moves in with her so they can keep up with the charade of boyfriend and girlfriend? Doesn’t sound bad right?

One small apartment, two single individuals who are equally sexually attracted to one another could only mean one thing: inevitable romance and friendship. As Mal and Anne get closer to one another, truths are revealed as to why Mal needed a fake girlfriend. Can a romance that started off as fake end up being real? Shakespeare once said “If music be the food of love, play on.” So can will Mal and Anne play the songs to each other’s heart or will the music fade?

Play_2.jpg

Play needs to continue to play on...this book was such a fun, humorous, heartfelt, touching and loving story. I love how Ms. Scott was able to show the depth of friendship between the band members of Stage Dive.  Beyond music, Stage Dive is about friendship, loyalty and brotherhood. Kylie was not only able to weave friendship into this Play but also develop the budding romance of Mal and Anne.  Although Mal and Anne had lots of playful and fun moments, the amount of trust they showed for each other was the highlight of the story. The ability to let someone in and see the REAL you is what makes Mal and Anne’s story special.  So if you are looking for a book where the characters are real, emotions are raw and a rock and roll romance that will leave a smile on your face then go read Play.. <3
