Review - The Wedding Agreement by Elizabeth Hayley

Title: The Wedding Agreement
Series: Strictly Business #3
Author: Elizabeth Hayley
Release Date: May 3, 2016

The author of Just Say Yes is back with another sweet and sultry Strictly Business novel about working hard and falling harder into an unexpected romance...

Love doesn’t always follow the same schedule...

Alex Walker doesn’t need a woman in his life. In fact, he doesn’t have time for one. Between his career in the FBI and the demands of being good father, romance is an unwanted distraction.

Likewise, Cassidy Mullen is fine on her own. The independent career woman has never had a husband in her plans—forget about kids. But when her friend Alex gets into a bind with his ex over their daughter, Cass finds herself suddenly playing the part of Alex’s stable, child-loving fiancée—and liking it a lot more than she’d care to admit.

Soon Alex and Cass can’t deny the real passion growing between them. But as fake affection turns into real love, Cass and Alex will have to make a choice: say “I Do” to their feelings or give up on happily-ever-after for good...

Hot FBI Agent who is also a single dad – check
Feisty Heroine – check
Sassy Daughter – check
Friends with Benefits – check
Fake Fiancée – check

Seriously, this book had so many awesome checks and much more. The Wedding Agreement is the third book in the Strictly Business series and was Cass and Alex’s story. We met them both in the previous books.

Alex is an FBI agent and single father to Nina, a sweet and sassy little girl. After his marriage fell apart due to his dedication to his career, Alex just wanted to be a good dad. When his ex-wife Tessa, starts questioning his parenting, Cass jumps in and tells her they are getting married.

So, what happens when the two jump into a fake relationship and plan a fake wedding? Do the feelings turn real? Or do they just go back to being friends? You will have to read and find out!

This story was fantastic! It was funny, sexy, and real!

“He sounds like a drowning walrus,” Alex said. Cass looked at him curiously. “Can walruses drown?”

And there were some super-hot scenes!

“You’re really going to give it up to me on the street? You are a dirty, dirty girl, Cass.”

There was so much that I loved about this book, but the relationship Cass had with Nina was my absolutely favorite! I also loved how much we got to see of all the other couples from the two previous books. I certainly we hope we get Simone’s story next!

Excerpt

Kelleigh swayed as she walked toward the door of her room. She’d had four schooners of beer and was feeling buzzed from the effects of the alcohol. Troy’s enchanting eyes had held her captivated during drinks, even though his attempts at flirting were poor. But hey, she wouldn’t have done any better. She was happy he was talking to her and not running off screaming in the other direction, thinking she was a raving lunatic after her episode yesterday.

She glanced over her shoulder and caught sight of his smoldering sapphire gaze. The way he looked at her made butterflies take flight in her stomach. She tried to recall if this was how Jamie looked at Fran? In reality it was probably the alcohol making her feel this way, but it was nice to think otherwise for a moment.

She paused at her door and admired Troy’s blond hair, sun-kissed skin and naturally well-muscled physique. Completely opposite to Rodrigo’s dark complexion, protein-powder induced muscles and moisturized baby-soft skin. Completely different to Rodrigo’s not-a-hair-out-of-place appearance. She lowered her eyes; her confidence wavered. Could she do this? Should she be doing this a month after Rodrigo had left? Why not? This was one night. She needed this. Something reckless. Something fun. Something to make her feel like a woman again. One small step toward gaining control back of her life.

Review - Just Say Yes by Elizabeth Hayley

Title: Just Say Yes
Series: Strictly Business #2
Author: Elizabeth Hayley
Release Date: December 1, 2015

From the author of The Best Medicine comes the latest Strictly Business novel—and this time, for one woman, finding the ideal man can be a pretty tall order…

Magazine columnist Quinn Sawyer has always attracted sweet, innocent, and safe men. And something tells her it’s because she’s just as harmless. So when she starts craving a guy with an edge, she realizes she may have to get one for herself.

When her boss asks for a unique pitch, Quinn’s quest to live outside her comfort zone prompts her to suggest an idea that will cause her to break her good-girl rules. And who better than Tim Jacobs to help her push her boundaries? For a while now, Quinn’s had a hot crush on the tattooed executive chef with a checkered past. If anybody can bring out her inner rebel, he can.

It’s no surprise that with every task the two complete, the sparks between them grow more and more intense. Soon there’s no denying the attraction they each feel. But Tim’s troubled past reveals an even tougher edge than Quinn expected—which means for her, falling in love might just be the greatest rebellion of all.

So, I pretty much loved everything about this book! It was sweet, sassy, sexy, and funny—a perfect combo of feelings throughout the entire story. And the title was impeccable!

“Carpe diem, Quinn. Today is the first day of the rest of your life (is that how that corny saying goes?). Anyway, I decided that we needed to up the stakes for your first foray into Good Girl Gone Bad-dom.”

Quinn is the reliable one, the safe one, the one you can always count on. However, she isn’t adventurous and doesn’t enter into uncomfortable situations. She is the good girl. But she’s tired of that and when she pitches an idea to her editor to write an article about a good girl who turns bad, even by little increments, she must now complete the tasks.

Tim is Scott’s older brother. He has lived a hard life and has been the bad boy for far too long. As Quinn’s friend he decides to help her with her foray into bad girlness, since she can’t do it alone.

What neither of them expected was to fall for the other.

“Mark me, Quinn. I want to wear the proof of what I did to you for days. I want to look at my back and know that I made you come so hard, you had to hold on for dear life.”

Even though he can’t stop his attraction to Quinn, Tim feels unworthy of a girl like her due to his past.

“Yes, you can make me worthy of you.”

I really loved everything about this book! I read it quickly and only put it down when I had to. I really loved watching Tim turn into the man that Quinn knew he was. We got to see Lauren and Scott from The Best Medicine, which I absolutely adored, as well as the rest of the cast from that book. We also met some new secondary characters, and I loved Roger as well as Tim’s friends from the pool hall. I can’t wait for the next story in this series of friends!
