I absolutely love the Legal Briefs series, so I was super excited when I saw that Sidebarred was getting added to the series!

Jake and Chelsea have been busy with taking care of six kids, and with them both having careers. When something comes up that will make them even busier, how will they handle it?

I loved going back into this world and catching up with the whole gang. Jake is as crazy about Chelsea as ever, and he is definitely still protective of her. Chelsea is still being a great aunt for her nieces and nephews, all while now working part-time at a museum. 

Emma Chase knows how to write a good book! I loved that she decided to continue their story. The new journey they go on is perfect for them, and it is written very well. Even though we got a great epilogue with the last book, this one was excellent as well. She shows the future of these characters, and it was an awesome way to end this series. I look forward to reading whatever Ms. Chase decides to write next!

Since meeting Brent in the first book of the Legal Briefs series, I’ve wanted to read his story. Now, with his book being the last in the series, I have to say that I was not disappointed and that it was a great end to this series about some seriously hot lawyers.

Brent and Kennedy met when they were young and haven’t seen each other since high school. They both have different views of what happened back then, which has lead them to believe different things. They meet back up when they are on opposing sides of the same case.

Despite the feelings of dislike Kennedy has for Brent, seeing him makes her feel like she may end up falling for him again, even with what happened in the past. 

And even with Kennedy trying to push Brent away, he doesn’t plan to give up. Their chemistry is smoking and the sexual tension is thick. What will it take for Kennedy to finally give in? 

I loved this book. It was everything I wanted for Brent and more. I really enjoyed the fact that they had a past with each other. Even though misunderstandings kind of irritate me, it worked well with this book. Once they finally laid everything out, things went much smoother with them. 

It was great to catch up with the rest of the gang and see how they were doing. I loved both of the epilogues and I’m glad she added that second one to the book. I’m sad to see this series end, but I look forward to reading more from Emma Chase in the future.

Jake Becker has been living the bachelor life for a while and he’s 30 years old. When he gets some not-so-great news, he realizes he should start dating and getting to know girls before he sleeps with them. His buddy, Brent helps him get a date, and he realizes dating isn’t so bad. When he meets Chelsea, he makes it his mission to try to have something with her; the only thing is, she comes with some big baggage—six kids. 

Jake’s main focus has been on his career in being a lawyer. When Chelsea and the kids start to take his attention away from that, he’s okay with it…until he isn’t anymore. Jake doubts his abilities to be what Chelsea needs. Will he be able to overcome his fears so he can have the family he deserves? 

I really enjoyed this book. It is told in only Jake’s POV. I’m pretty used to dual POV, so this was something different for me. It was an interesting approach. Jake was a really good guy, whether he believed that about himself or not. He was so great with the kids. Six kids are a handful, but he managed to take care of them just fine. 

Chelsea and Jake have their ups and downs with the kids, having to deal with the social worker, and with Jake’s doubts and fears. It was great to see Brent, Stanton, and Sofia again and to see how they were always there for each other. 

I think that some people might be put off from this book because a lot of it involves the kids, but let’s face it, there is six of them, so they are going to be a big part of it. There is still romance and time for Chelsea and Jake to be together, but not as much as they would be without the kids. I really like books like this and thought it was great. I like the family dynamic and how Jake and Chelsea were always there for the kids and would do anything for them. 

This was another great book by Emma Chase. I very much enjoy the Legal Briefs series and can’t wait to read about Brent in his book, which is next.

When I read the blurb for Overruled, I couldn't wait to read the book. Two hot lawyers? Friends with benefits? A high school sweetheart? A kid? A wedding? All these things thrown together? That equals some good drama and an interesting book.

Stanton Shaw is living a great life; he has a good job, he has Sofia, his friend with benefits, and he has a wonderful daughter. When he left Mississippi to make a life for himself in Washington DC as a defense attorney, that meant leaving behind his high school sweetheart and his daughter.

Sofia Santos is a criminal defense attorney who works with Stanton. Both Sofia and Stanton know all they want from each other is mind-blowing sex. They don't let their feelings get involved and they don't let it affect their work life. This should be the perfect situation for them both, right? When Stanton asks Sofia to come with him to Mississippi to stop his high school sweetheart's wedding, she agrees to go to help him win her over.

I really enjoyed this book, though Stanton got on my nerves sometimes. In a book, I want the main characters to be together and not have other people getting in the way. Stanton had a perfect person for him right in front of him, yet he couldn't let go of his first love. I really wanted to knock some sense into him for most of the book!

I really liked Sofia, and was rooting for her the whole time. Stanton and Sofia had so much chemistry and fit really well together, even if it took Stanton awhile to realize it.

This is the first book in the Legal Briefs series, and I can't wait to read Jake's book next.
