Review - Yield: A Legal Affairs Story by Sawyer Bennett

Title: Yield: A Legal Affairs Story
Series: Cal and Macy #3
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: May 5, 2015

**Due to sexual content and heavy subject matter of an abusive nature, this book may not be suitable for all audiences.

Yield (verb): to surrender or submit (oneself) to another

Macy Carrington is broken. The strong, beautiful woman that I’ve unwittingly fallen in love with is all kinds of broken from a secret that she has carried for far too long.

A secret so dark, she has gone to great lengths to protect it.

A secret that I’m terrified will one day rip her away from me.

The only time Macy frees herself from the darkness is when she is naked and in my arms. When I am deep inside her body, there is nothing she fears. When she wraps herself around me, she is at peace.

If she would only yield to me completely, I know I can set her free.

*Yield is the final book the Legal Affairs trilogy of Cal and Macy’s story. Clash and Grind, Books #1 and 2, can be found on this retailer’s site for purchase.

AMAZON US / UK

Ahhh!! Finally, we get answers to all of our questions and we find out all of Macy’s secrets!

This is the third and final installment in Cal and Macy’s story and this one was the most emotional. It ripped my heart out, slowly put it back together, only to rip it out again. There may have even been a few tears shed.

Cal continues to break Macy’s walls down, while building her up.

“I love you, Macy. No matter what has happened to you in the past or what happens to you in the future, I am never leaving your side, so quit trying to push me away. And I don’t care if you love me back. I’m going to make you love me one day. I’m going to show you that what we have is beautiful and meant to be.”

Cal is determined to do right by Macy, no matter what the cost and continues to be the white knight that she needs. He is such a kind, caring, sweet man!

We fought a lot of battles in this volume. But the one thing she learned is that Cal is different from every other man. She only wanted what is best for him.

“You’re my favorite person in the world,” she whispers as she pulls away from me. “And if the only way to keep you in this world is to let you go, that’s what I’m doing.”

So do Cal and Macy ever get their happily ever after? You will have to read this fantastic series and find out for yourself. You will not be disappointed, as this entire series is sexy, steamy, emotional, and full of hope!

On a scale of 1 to 10, this book was a “holy shit, my vagina just exploded.”

Yes, Saint Cal is back with Macy in the third installment, filled with drama, heat, love and perseverance. He is determined to be a knight in shining armor for Macy, even if he has to lead the charge with his penis. Nothing will get in his way of trying to make her life a dream.

We have gotten to watch Macy grow though out the series, but in this book, she is like a spring rain washing away her troubles. She faces some huge hurdles and has huge decisions to make, including if she can keep Cal a part of her life.

I am sad that this series is done, but if I know Sawyer at all, I know the next one will be just as HOT!

I really don't know where to start with this one. Because I just finished Yield -- meaning I'm done with Macy and Cal's story -- and I'm feeling a mix of happy, really fucking happy, and sad. I think I could read about Racy Macy and Saint Cal forever.

Yield picks up where Grind left off, with Macy facing an uncertain future, her secrets still hidden but threatening to burst forth, and Cal trying his damnedest to protect her. And it goes balls-to-the-wall from there.

What a spectacular ending. Sawyer Bennett nailed it, as assuredly as Cal nailed Macy...or Macy nailed Cal. It was as dirty and kinky as ever, and HELLS yes, that was awesome, but this one got to me in another way. It sucker-punched me right in the feels.

Did I suspect? Yes. Does that matter? No freaking way. Yield was a delight and a pain to read. Delightful because it was well-written, perfectly paced and flowed fantastically. Painful because well... *SPOILER*

It wasn't always easy to read, and I frowned a hell of a lot, because of those pesky feels. I ached. I cringed. I cursed. But I also smiled. Maybe even laughed once or twice. I read cover-to-cover with no breaks; yeah, I'd totally do that again. I finished Yield -- and this entire series -- feeling pretty damn good. A sexy story and an epic epilogue will do that to you!

Review - Grind: A Legal Affairs Story by Sawyer Bennett

Title: Grind: A Legal Affairs Story
Series: Cal and Macy #2
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: April 21, 2015

Grind (verb): to weaken or destroy gradually

Macy Carrington is not the woman I once thought her to be.

What she does not allow her heart to feel, she gives with her body. The sex between us is explosive and depraved. I’ve done things with her that would never have crossed my wildest imagination, and I can’t ever seem to get enough.

But now I want more from her. I want to figure out her dark secret, expose it and then help her to heal from it. I know, without a doubt, that Macy is capable of love, and I will grind her down until I make her accept the truth of it.

Grind (verb): to wear down, polish, or sharpen by friction

Cal Carson is not the man I once thought him to be.

Strong, determined, sexy as hell and a beast in the bedroom. He is every woman’s fantasy.

He is my fantasy.

But no matter how hard Cal tries to grind me down, my heart and secrets are mine and mine alone.

**Clash is the first book in this Legal Affairs trilogy and is releasing on 4/7/15. Grind will be released on 4/21/15 and Yield will be released on 5/5/15.

Well, well, well.... Every time I think Ms. Bennett has bested herself in the dirty, kinky sex department, she *snickers* comes up with something dirtier, kinkier, sexier. And holy mother of mercy, Grind was....like, *gulp* *gasp* FUCK!!

They may not be friends. They may not even really like one another. But Macy Carrington and Cal Carson have a boatload of chemistry and a strong desire to fuck one another into oblivion. With Cal helping Macy -- in more ways than one -- will their sexual relationship keep building??

Ummmm... I am honestly not sure what to say about Grindexcept that if really erotic erotica is your thing, you're going to want to read this book. Ms. Bennett had me panting, sweating, swearing and casting sneaky glances over my shoulder to make sure I wasn't going to be sprung reading this hotter-than-fuck book on the airplane. Not because I was worried about people knowing that I was reading this sexy series. No, no, because I'm plotting to keep filthy Saint Cal all to myself.

Can you tell I thought this book was H. O. T.? But it's something else too. It's actually quite sweet and kind of sad. I loved Macy here -- bruised, broken, mysterious Macy, whose diary entries give much needed insight into her psyche but don't overwhelm the reader. God, I need to get to the bottom of her secrets. I want to learn more about her. I desire all the best things for her and Cal...

But with that epic cliffhanger ending, it's not all sunshine and roses. Not yet, anyway. I got to the end, happy and sad, excited and frustrated and so damn ready to jump into Yield, that I've never been more grateful for long-haul travel and a well-stocked Kindle. Cal, Macy, you're mine. I can't wait to see what happens next!

MUST. HAVE. BOOK 3. NOW!!! Holy cliffhanger, Ms. Bennett! I need to know what is going to happen and what Macy’s secret is!

Grind is the second book of Cal and Macy’s story and I think it was even better than the first. We finally get to see Macy let a little of her guard down with Cal. And we continue to see Cal break down her walls.

“You can tell me anything, Macy. I’m you friend. You will always be safe in telling me, but more importantly…you will never be judged by this man.”

We also got to see Cal try some new things for Macy. And it was HOT! Note to self – do not read Sawyer’s books when my husband is at work or the kids are awake!! This book was sizzling, scorching, erotic; pick an adjective that means fucking HOT and add it here because there aren’t enough to describe some of the scenes in this book!

I continue to adore Mac and her relationship with both Cal and Macy, and the scene between Matt and Cal was awesome. I can’t wait to read the conclusion to this series and find out if Macy and Cal will end up together!

Sawyer Bennett can write one hell of a series. And this one is no exception. I often tell her she needs to stop writing because my panties just can’t handle all the awesomeness and heat she brings to the pages; she has yet to listen to me. It’s probably for the best.

So Saint Cal and Macy join us again right where we left them. In Cal’s office while she is trying to show him her pet beaver. (And I would assume it’s a pretty beaver, because Cal spends a lot of time kissing it.)

Cal and Macy end up in Utah, and then spend the rest of the trip in a hotel room. And let me tell you, that man needs to change his name to MacGyver! He can do anything with hotel supplies!

Macy seems to be warming up in this book a bit. Maybe THAT’S why she is wet all the time…? LOL. If you have made it this far into the review, congrats! Now go buy the series, and extra panties. And maybe some batteries.

Review - Clash by Sawyer Bennett

Title: Clash: A Legal Affairs Story
Series: Cal and Macy #1
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: April 7, 2015

Clash (verb): to conflict, disagree.

It might be fair to say that I despise Macy Carrington. She slings insults with precision, not caring about the destruction she leaves in her wake. We clash in a battle of wills every time we’re around each other, and yet… I still fantasize about being lodged deep within her body.

Clash (verb): to come together or collide.

I have never encountered someone that grates me the way Cal Carson does. His pompous, arrogant demeanor. A holier-than-thou attitude. Any interaction with “Saint Cal” ends in a verbal clash of epic proportions, and yet… there’s no one I’d rather have in my bed than him.

Clash (noun): a battle, fight or skirmish.

Her breathy moans mingle with the sound of our flesh coming together, clashing with the silence that surrounds us, dispelling any notions I once had about Macy Carrington.

Maybe I can break down her walls if we can call a truce to this battle.

He whispers filthy words in my ear, provoking feelings I never knew were possible. The burning desire in his touch clashes with everything I once believed about Cal Carson.

Maybe he can be the balm I need to soothe my broken soul, if only temporarily.

**Clash is the first book in this Legal Affairs trilogy and is releasing on 4/7/15. Grind will be released on 4/21/15 and Yield will be released on 5/5/15.

I was so excited to see another Legal Affairs story was coming because I LOVED Mac and Matt’s story!! This time around we get Cal and Macy, both of whom had big roles in the Mac and Matt’s story.

Cal is ready to settle down and have a family. He wants what Mac and Matt have.
“Fuck, I want that, and maybe it makes me a pussy, I don’t know. But I’m so ready to settle down. I want the wife and kids, and I know without a doubt that I’m ready for the responsibility of it all.”

He does not get along with Macy at all. The two put up with each other for Mac’s sake, but usually end up in an argument.

However, their barbs back and forth turn into quite the foreplay and that pantry scene was hot, hot, hot!! Unfortunate circumstances bring the two together again and it doesn’t take long for the sparks to fly.

“I mean…right this minute, I could just crawl onto your lap, pull your cock out, and ride it hard.”

This story was sexy and brilliant. We barely scratched the surface of Macy and her secrets and I cannot wait to read the next installment!!

~ Review by Tiffany

OMG, WHEN DOES THE NEXT ONE COME OUT?! Sorry to be all shouty, but I am that excited.

Cal is a lawyer, and man, what I wouldn’t do to get in trouble, just to have him help me out! He seems to know what he wants in life and is not afraid of commitment.

Macy is best friends with Cal’s business partner, and they get along as well as oil and water. Or maybe more like vinegar and baking soda, because when they get together, it is explosive!!! And so fucking hot!

The book ends on a small cliffy that will leave you wanting more and leave you sexually frustrated!

~ Review by Devlynn

HOLY HOT PANTIES AND HATE SEX, BATMAN!! With a title like Clash and a blurb like that, there was really no way that this was going to be any less than an intense, dirty, kinky, hate-sex-filled and H.O.T. book. Add to that the fact it's a spin-off of Legal Affairs, one of my favorite series, and has an OMFG, you ended there? cliffhanger, and you've got the recipe for a exciting new read.

Cal Carson and Macy Carrington have nothing in common besides their shared friend, Mac. He hates her, she dislikes him. Their shared ire is a spark waiting to catch fire. They clash every time they meet, but all it takes is for one to push the verbal sparring too far and suddenly it goes from combustible to explosive.

Cal can't stop thinking about Macy. Macy thinks maybe Cal can ease her troubles. Neither wants to admit it out loud...

I probably could get away with writing HOT HOT HOT HOT on repeat until you understand. This. Book. Is. Hot. Like, seriously. I've been a fan of Ms. Bennett's for some time, and Cal and Macy may just about trump any other (dirty) couple she's penned thus far. Sure, they hate each other but wow, they have chemistry, and hate-to-sex-to-love is one of those storylines that is amazing when done right...and this first installment is done right.

It's not just the sex though. As a set-up for this new serial, Clashis a perfect starting point. Obviously, the connection between the two characters is established...oh, how it's established! But there's more to them both than meets the eye and it's presented in a way that makes it intriguing, not irritating. This author has a talent for writing the male POV and making seem real and true. Oh, and there's a finish that's sure to have you both panting and cursing, knowing that you're S.O.L until Grind, but relishing the fact that the best is yet to come.
