Review - Clash by Sawyer Bennett

Title: Clash: A Legal Affairs Story
Series: Cal and Macy #1
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: April 7, 2015

Clash (verb): to conflict, disagree.

It might be fair to say that I despise Macy Carrington. She slings insults with precision, not caring about the destruction she leaves in her wake. We clash in a battle of wills every time we’re around each other, and yet… I still fantasize about being lodged deep within her body.

Clash (verb): to come together or collide.

I have never encountered someone that grates me the way Cal Carson does. His pompous, arrogant demeanor. A holier-than-thou attitude. Any interaction with “Saint Cal” ends in a verbal clash of epic proportions, and yet… there’s no one I’d rather have in my bed than him.

Clash (noun): a battle, fight or skirmish.

Her breathy moans mingle with the sound of our flesh coming together, clashing with the silence that surrounds us, dispelling any notions I once had about Macy Carrington.

Maybe I can break down her walls if we can call a truce to this battle.

He whispers filthy words in my ear, provoking feelings I never knew were possible. The burning desire in his touch clashes with everything I once believed about Cal Carson.

Maybe he can be the balm I need to soothe my broken soul, if only temporarily.

**Clash is the first book in this Legal Affairs trilogy and is releasing on 4/7/15. Grind will be released on 4/21/15 and Yield will be released on 5/5/15.

I was so excited to see another Legal Affairs story was coming because I LOVED Mac and Matt’s story!! This time around we get Cal and Macy, both of whom had big roles in the Mac and Matt’s story.

Cal is ready to settle down and have a family. He wants what Mac and Matt have.
“Fuck, I want that, and maybe it makes me a pussy, I don’t know. But I’m so ready to settle down. I want the wife and kids, and I know without a doubt that I’m ready for the responsibility of it all.”

He does not get along with Macy at all. The two put up with each other for Mac’s sake, but usually end up in an argument.

However, their barbs back and forth turn into quite the foreplay and that pantry scene was hot, hot, hot!! Unfortunate circumstances bring the two together again and it doesn’t take long for the sparks to fly.

“I mean…right this minute, I could just crawl onto your lap, pull your cock out, and ride it hard.”

This story was sexy and brilliant. We barely scratched the surface of Macy and her secrets and I cannot wait to read the next installment!!

OMG, WHEN DOES THE NEXT ONE COME OUT?! Sorry to be all shouty, but I am that excited.

Cal is a lawyer, and man, what I wouldn’t do to get in trouble, just to have him help me out! He seems to know what he wants in life and is not afraid of commitment.

Macy is best friends with Cal’s business partner, and they get along as well as oil and water. Or maybe more like vinegar and baking soda, because when they get together, it is explosive!!! And so fucking hot!

The book ends on a small cliffy that will leave you wanting more and leave you sexually frustrated!

HOLY HOT PANTIES AND HATE SEX, BATMAN!! With a title like Clash and a blurb like that, there was really no way that this was going to be any less than an intense, dirty, kinky, hate-sex-filled and H.O.T. book. Add to that the fact it's a spin-off of Legal Affairs, one of my favorite series, and has an OMFG, you ended there? cliffhanger, and you've got the recipe for a exciting new read.

Cal Carson and Macy Carrington have nothing in common besides their shared friend, Mac. He hates her, she dislikes him. Their shared ire is a spark waiting to catch fire. They clash every time they meet, but all it takes is for one to push the verbal sparring too far and suddenly it goes from combustible to explosive.

Cal can't stop thinking about Macy. Macy thinks maybe Cal can ease her troubles. Neither wants to admit it out loud...

I probably could get away with writing HOT HOT HOT HOT on repeat until you understand. This. Book. Is. Hot. Like, seriously. I've been a fan of Ms. Bennett's for some time, and Cal and Macy may just about trump any other (dirty) couple she's penned thus far. Sure, they hate each other but wow, they have chemistry, and hate-to-sex-to-love is one of those storylines that is amazing when done right...and this first installment is done right.

It's not just the sex though. As a set-up for this new serial, Clashis a perfect starting point. Obviously, the connection between the two characters is established...oh, how it's established! But there's more to them both than meets the eye and it's presented in a way that makes it intriguing, not irritating. This author has a talent for writing the male POV and making seem real and true. Oh, and there's a finish that's sure to have you both panting and cursing, knowing that you're S.O.L until Grind, but relishing the fact that the best is yet to come.
