Review - Mister O by Lauren Blakely

Title: Mister O
Author: Lauren Blakely
Release Date: May 1, 2016

From the NYT Bestselling author of BIG ROCK, comes a hot and hilarious new standalone...

Just call me Mister O. Because YOUR pleasure is my super power.

Making a woman feel ‘oh-god-that’s-good’ is the name of the game, and if a man can’t get the job done, he should get the hell out of the bedroom. I’m talking toe-curling, mind-blowing, sheet-grabbing ecstasy. Like I provide every time.

I suppose that makes me a superhero of pleasure, and my mission is to always deliver.

But then I'm thrown for a loop when a certain woman asks me to teach her everything about how to win a man. The only problem? She's my best friend's sister, but she's far too tempting to resist--especially when I learn that sweet, sexy Harper, has a dirty mind too and wants to put it to good use. What could possibly go wrong as I give the woman I've secretly wanted some no-strings-attached lessons in seduction?

No one will know, even if we send a few dirty sexts. Okay, a few hundred. Or if the zipper on her dress gets stuck. Not on that! Or if she gives me those f*&k-me-eyes on the train in front of her whole family.

The trouble is the more nights I spend with her in bed, the more days I want to spend with her out of bed. And for the first time ever, I'm not only thinking about how to make a woman cry out in pleasure --I'm thinking about how to keep her in my arms for a long time to come.

Looks like the real Adventures of Mister Orgasm have only just begun....

**MISTER O is a standalone romantic comedy and it follows supporting characters first introduced in BIG ROCK**

I can't even stand how happy my heart is right now. That's a weird thing to say, right? But it's so full! And all that fullness just erupted in a fit of unexpected tears because this book just took a swing at all my favorite feels and completely knocked my socks off.

Nick. Hammer.

I knew by the end of Big Rock that I was going to love Nick Hammer. He did not disappoint. He's sharp and witty, confident and unfiltered, and just nerdy enough to make me sit up and take notice. Also—tattoos. And glasses. Stick a fork in me y'all. However, all these things don't paint a vivid enough picture of Nick Hammer because he's also super tender, smart, and unexpectedly sensitive in a way that completely stole my heart (after making it ache and flutter over the course of this book).

Harper Holiday is his perfect match. Quirky and awkward and completely adorable—she's like this perfect blend of straightforward minx and bumbling goof. When she asks Nick to teach her how to win a man, she puts them on a path that is scorching hot and sensual. There's a very subtle forbidden element to this story, but the bigger attraction is how their friendship deepens into something so much richer, filling my heart drop by delicious drop until the very end when it set off that explosion of emotion. Harper and Nick are so much fun together—and a complete joy to read.

This book (or these books, really) presents itself as a bit of a fluffy read, so I was a little surprised when I had such an emotional reaction to it. Here's the thing: It has so much heart. It is a sexy and fun read, but Harper and Nick are the real deal and there's no way to read that ending and not feel like you just read something special. The little glimpses of Spencer and Charlotte felt warm and rewarding, and the whole damn package just left me with the biggest smile on my face and this full to bursting happy heart. LOVED IT. SO MUCH.

And now? Let the countdown to Wyatt begin…*flexes grabby hands*
~ Review by Shelly

If ever a book should *come* with a HAPPY ENDING, it's Mister O. I mean, really...

This book just sort of THRUST itself into both my heart and my head, and is yet to let me go. It PENETRATED the book fog I was in before I opened it up, and now, I'm so freakin' happy, I'm only flail away from doing star jumps or some shit.

It's ridiculous but totally warranted. Brother's best friend is one of my favorite romance sub-genres, and when you bring it together with Lauren Blakely—and her signature banter—it's a recipe for success. And a kind of giddy happiness of the whole body that feels like...err, well...Mister O lived up to his name.

Let's HAMMER out the details of why I loved it so, shall we? Nick. A cartoonist (so nerdy cool), purveyor of female pleasure with a predilection for crosswords and showers. Oh, and a total dirty-talking panty-melter. With a really big…HEART. Yassssss.

Then there's Harper. A flipping MAGICIAN, for crying out loud. In the Lauren Blakely Awesome Professions Hall of Fame, that's gotta be top dog. She's a little awkward and a lot charming, and so much FUN. I loved her—she was witty and creative and sassy.

And together they were, pardon the pun, MAGIC. All intense chemistry, with this kind of slow burn friends-to-lovers (another sub-genre I love, FYI) romance that wasn't just sexy. Or funny. Or flirty. Or heart-smooshy. It was ALL of those things.

So, the end result is me, satiated, smiling and oh, so SATISFIED. Which, for a book called Mister O, is exactly as it should be.
~ Review by Beth

Oh, Mister O! You sure know how to keep a girl coming back for more. This book was so good, I couldn’t put it down! Not only was it a best friend’s little sister book, it was also a nerd alert!

Ms. Blakely seems to be able to make any profession hot! A sexy comic strip creator and a naughty magician—and the two were perfectly quirky!

“I have no clue if her mind swerved out of Friendshipville and into Naughty Thought Town that day in the park, too.”

Nick Hammer, creator of The Adventures of Mister Orgasm, and Spencer Holiday’s best friend, knows how to please a woman. He made it his life’s work to pleasure a woman, and not only in his comic strip. But he has one small issue…

“I’m the one with the big secret – that I’m completely fucking tempted by my best friend’s sister in every way. Unrequited lust sucks balls.”

Harper Holiday loves her job. She is a magician and loves the illusion she brings to children’s lives. However, she needs help with men. It’s been a long time and decides she needs some dating lessons, and who better to give them then Nick? Harper then decides that dating is not enough and that Nick needs to teach her how to seduce and please a man.

Not one to turn down a woman, especially one he has been lusting after; the two enter into a scorching hot relationship.

“I’m drunk on her, intoxicated on her taste, her tongue, her mouth, her sweetness.”

The two of them together are sizzling! Even their fantasies had my kindle on fire! Oh, and the dirty talk—top notch!

Seriously, I loved everything about this book. It was hot as hell, funny, sweet, and fun; a perfect read. I loved that it was strictly from Nick’s point-of-view. I adored seeing Spencer and Charlotte, as well as Clay and Julia. I cannot wait for Wyatt’s book!!

Review - Sinful Love by Lauren Blakely

Title: Sinful Love
Series: Sinful Nights #4
Author: Lauren Blakely
Release Date: March 28, 2016

Intense. Devoted. Protective.

Michael Sloan is all of the above, with a hard tough edge to boot. He's not the guy he used to be. Years ago, before all the s&%t went down, he was laidback, carefree, and even happy-go-lucky.

Life changed him. Hardened him.

There's one woman though who can break down his walls. Someone who knew him then. Who can reach inside to that heart he protects fiercely...because she's the only one he ever gave it to. When they collide, it's tender and savage, gentle and rough, and makes them both hungry for more of this electric, once-in-a-blue moon kind of sexual chemistry. But it's a battle of wills between Michael and the woman he loves, with words and emotions held close to the vest.

She doesn't believe she can ever move on from her own heartbreak, but when Michael makes her feel for the first time in years, it's both thrilling and scares the hell out of her, setting off all her flight instincts. He's determined not to lose her again, but he'll have to learn to let her in if he ever wants to fully heal from the past...

The problem is, she knows something about the night his family shattered. She has the missing puzzle piece...but neither one of them realizes it.

YET.

SINFUL LOVE is the fourth and final book in the steamy, sexy, suspenseful New York Times Bestselling Sinful Nights series from Lauren Blakely, author of the wildly popular Seductive Nights series...

Say it ain't so... This suspenseful and arresting series CAN'T be over. Not when I am so in love with it, with the Sloan siblings and their loved ones, and with the way Lauren Blakely shapes her book-world with a deft hand and a large helping of mystery...

And what mystery it was!! I could tell you more, but why risk spoiling it for you? If you've been following this series of inter-connected stories, you'll know that Sinful Love is the fourth book...and the one that holds the final, shocking answers. All I will say is this:

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

That'll have to do, because I want your mouth to drop open and your eyes to widen as mine did when I uncovered the truth. Know this though—the way Ms. Blakely tied this series together was breathtaking, surprising, heart-pounding and completely engaging.

And utterly swoonworthy, thanks to one Michael Sloan. That man, I swear. He's the very definition of panty-melting, and yet I find myself wanting to award him some classier compliments—I think he would appreciate it. He's devilishly handsome; a romantic and dashing man with a fast, smooth (dirty) mouth and all the right moves. His devotion and capacity to love and care for those around him is remarkable, as is the way he recognizes his own failings.

Which were, to my eyes, few and far between. He was wholly deserving of his spectacular second chance at love with his what if? girl, Annalise, and it made my sappy heart ache that he'd lost so much—even as he edged ever closer to gaining even more

Like closure. True love. THE TRUTH. Oh, lord. There's just SO MUCH to love about Sinful Love. The beautiful rekindling of Michael and Annalise's love (I could probably dedicate paragraphs to how their relationship, their separation, their chemistry and their obstacles pulled a frown to my forehead and put a flutter in my belly). The fast-paced ending that had me manically flipping page after page. The sweet, funny and sexy banter that Ms. Blakely is so damn good at. The secondary characters I enjoyed catching up with—or mentally matchmaking.

And, of course, that mystery. The suspense-ridden puzzle that kept me guessing, speculating, wondering and theorizing. While I can't (read: don't want to) believe the Sinful Nights has reached its conclusion, I CAN believe that Ms. Blakely made said conclusion perfectly sexy, enjoyably twisty and sublimely wonderful. I wouldn’t expect anything less from one of my very favorite authors.
~ Review by Beth

Oh Ms. Blakely, you sure saved the best for last in this series! Michael was by far my favorite Sloan brother! He is protective, loving, and downright swoon-worthy! And this story wrapped up the entire series perfectly!

Michael Sloan is the oldest brother, and has always taken care of everyone else. He likes his life in black and white, and rarely lets anyone in. After his father was killed by his mother, he just has to move on anyway he can.

“That’s the only way through everything. Keep in living–keep on feeling.”

His first love, Annalise, was always on his mind, even when he found out she'd moved on. But when she re-enters his life, alone and scared, the chemistry between them is no longer dormant. It is hot as hell!

“Don’t think I’m selfish. I’m not,” she said, whispering in his ear. “I want to taste you. I want you in my mouth. I want to feel you in my throat.”

Annalise is a beautiful, funny, sassy French woman. Michael was her first love as well, but when they drifted apart due to time and distance, she moved on. However, one look at Michael has her falling all over again.

“Now. The word echoed. Reminding her that now was all anyone ever had. This moment. Make the most of it.”

The two of them together were perfection! I loved how giving and caring Michael was, and how he helped Annalise through a ridiculously tough time. I loved how we got to see the entire Sloan clan, as well as got the ending to their story. This was another fantastic read from Ms. Blakely, and I can’t wait for more!
~ Review by Tiffany

God, this series is amazing. Sexy. Suspenseful. Mysterious. Each book building until we get to the stunning conclusion. And in this final installment we are rewarded with the story of Michael and Annalise. A second chance for them to find happiness together—no matter the hurdles that are in their way.

I could provide an easy snapshot review of the story but I’m not going to because you need—no, you MUST read this series. You must experience the ties that bind a family together through the toughest of times, the love that is unfurled when you find your “one” and the second chance you don’t let pass you by when you have the opportunity to love again.

I absolutely loved every bit of Michael and Annalise’s story. Every. Bit. From the flash backs of their past, to their present, I couldn’t get enough of their story. Sinful Love is the dénouement of this series. The icing on the cake. The cherry on the top of the sundae. A sweetly satisfying ending that has stuck with me since I finished reading it—so much so that that I plan to re-read the entire series soon to experience it all again.

EXCERPT:

PROLOGUE
Ask me my three favorite things and the answers are so easy they roll off my tongue. Hitting a homerun for my softball league, drawing a killer cartoon panel, and, oh yeah, making a woman come so hard she sees stars.

Not gonna lie. That last one is my favorite, by about a mile. Giving a woman a sheet-grabbing, toe-curling, mind-blowing orgasm is pretty much the Best Thing Ever.

A woman’s climax is like summer break, Christmas morning, and a vacation in Fiji all rolled together in one fantastic package of window-shattering bliss.

Hell, if we could harness the beauty and energy from women coming, we could probably power cities, solve global warming, fix every problem known to man. The female orgasm is basically the manifestation of everything good in the world.

Especially when I deliver them, and I’ve given thousands upon thousands. I’m like a superhero of pleasure, a good-deed doer, the once-upon-a-geek-now-a-stud, and my mission is to dispense as many climaxes to my lovers as possible.

How have I managed to achieve this amazing feat? Simple. I’m both a student and a master of the art of giving Os. I consider myself an expert because — in the interest of full disclosure here — I’m completely, 100% obsessed with a woman’s enjoyment between the sheets. Getting her off is the name of the game, and if you can’t get that job done, you should get the hell out of the bedroom.

But, hey, I’m also humble enough to admit I’m still a learner.

Since there is always something new to discover with a woman.

Does she want it soft, hard, fast, light, rough? Does she like it with teeth, toys, my cock, my tongue, my fingers? Would she want a little something extra, like a feather, a vibrator, or some sort of fantastic combination of all of the above? Every woman is different and every path to her pleasure is its own erotic journey with so many fantastic stops to make along the way.

I take mental notes, study her cues, and always get out and do the field work.

I suppose that makes me the Magellan of the female orgasm. A true explorer, venturing forth, fearless and ready at any moment, to map the terrain of her pleasure until she cries out in rapture.

Fine, some might say I have an addiction.

But really, is it a bad thing that I love to make the woman I’m with feel good? If that makes me a guy with a one-track mind, then I’m guilty as fucking charged. I’ll freely admit that when I meet a woman I’m into, I’m picturing in seconds what she looks like coming, how she sounds, how I want to send her soaring.

The trouble is, there’s one woman I just can’t go there with, even though lately my brain desperately wants to figure out how to drive her wild. It’s been an epic battle, and I’ve had to keep her in a special drawer, locked, sealed and key thrown away because she is the definition of hands off.

Which sucks royally because she’s about to make things even harder with the words that come out of her mouth.

ABOUT MISTER ORG@SM:

Just call me Mister Orgasm. No, really, I insist. Orgasms are my specialty. Delivering them, administering them, giving them in multiples. Then doing it again for an encore. I'm like the superhero of pleasure, and my mission is to dole out countless toe-curling, mind-blowing climaxes.

But, hey, I'm not just a man with only one superpower. Step right up, and you'll also find a hot exterior, a razor-sharp wit, and a heart of gold. And I don't take a damn thing for granted. Back in the day, I was the quiet guy bent over his notebook drawing cartoons. Now I'm creator of the hottest animated TV show in the world --The Adventures of Mister Orgasm -- and I'm living the good life as the once-upon-a-time-geek-turned-stud. That means I always put the lady first, and her satisfaction is guaranteed.

Then I'm thrown for a loop when a certain woman asks me to teach her everything about how to win a man. Sounds like my kind of mission. The only problem? She's my best friend's sister, but she's far too tempting to resist--especially when I learn that sweet, sexy, witty Harper has a dirty mind too. What could possibly go wrong as I give her some no-strings-attached lessons in seduction?

No one will know, even if we send a few dirty sexts. Okay, a few hundred. Or if the zipper on her dress gets stuck. Not on that! Or if she gives me those sex eyes on the train in front of her whole family.

And that’s not all! Lauren Blakely has a surprise for you!

✮✮✮WELL HUNG is coming soon! ✮✮✮

That’s right! Lauren has a third standalone romantic comedy headed your way in Late Summer 2016!Check out the fantastic cover for WELL HUNG designed by Helen Williams!

  Well Hung - cover

ABOUT WELL HUNG:

Here’s what you need to know about me — I’m well-off, well-hung and quick with a joke. Yup. Women like a guy who makes them laugh—and I don’t mean at the size of his d*ck. No, they want their funny with a side of huge… not to mention loyal. I’m the complete package—and I do mean package. I’ve got all that plus a big bank account, thanks to my booming construction business.

Enter Natalie. Hot, sexy, smart, and my new assistant. Which makes her totally off limits...

Hey, I’m a good guy. Really. I do my best to stay far away from the kind of temptation she brings to work. Until one night in Vegas…

Yeah, you’ve heard this one before. Bad news on the business front, drowning our sorrows in a few too many Harvey Wallbangers, and then I’m banging her. In my hotel room. In her hotel room. Behind the Titanic slot machine at the Flamingo (don’t ask). And before I can make her say “Oh God right there YES!” one more time, we’re both saying yes—the big yes—at a roadside chapel in front of a guy in press-on sideburns and a shiny gold leisure suit.

The annulment was supposed to be a piece of cake. But it turns out what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas. And now, my dick doesn’t stay in my pants when she’s around. Why would it? Natalie’s hot, witty, and horny as hell—especially when we fight. And thanks to a snag with the annulment, she’s still my wife. Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Hammer and Natalie Rhodes.

I try to resist. Honest. But the more we try to keep our hands to ourselves, the more we end up naked again -- on the desk in my office, in the cab of my truck, on the ladder -- and the more time I want to spend with her fully clothed, too.

Sure, we both know a legit divorce is for the best, but my dick is the most loyal prick I know. Especially now that my heart is in the game too. The question now is…do I take this woman to be my ex-wife?

Review - Big Rock by Lauren Blakely

Title: Big Rock
Author: Lauren Blakely
Release Date: January 6, 2016

It's not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It's definitely the SIZE of the boat too.

And I've got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big cock.

You might think I'm an asshole. I sound like one, don’t I? I'm hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse.

Guess what? You haven't heard my story before. Sure, I might be a playboy, like the NY gossip rags call me. But I’m the playboy who’s actually a great guy. Which makes me one of a kind.

The only trouble is, my dad needs me to cool it for a bit. With conservative investors in town wanting to buy his flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry store, he needs me not only to zip it up, but to look the part of the committed guy. Fine. I can do this for Dad. After all, I’ve got him to thank for the family jewels. So I ask my best friend and business partner to be my fiancée for the next week. Charlotte’s up for it. She has her own reasons for saying yes to wearing this big rock.

And pretty soon all this playing pretend in public leads to no pretending whatsoever in the bedroom, because she just can’t fake the kind of toe-curling, window-shattering orgasmic cries she makes as I take her to new heights between the sheets.

But I can’t seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her.

What the fuck have I gotten myself into with this…big rock?

BIG ROCK is a standalone, dirty romance novel written from the guy’s POV by NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely…

When Spencer Holiday propositions his best friend, Charlotte to be his fake fiancée for a week in order to help his dad seal a business deal, he thinks the most difficult part is going to be living without sex for the duration. He’s not prepared for the reaction Charlotte has to him, or—in turn—the reaction he has to her unexpected behavior. When Charlotte makes a proposition of her own, everything fake starts feeling a little too real. The line between friends and lovers is sometimes thin, but can these two cross it without losing the best friendship either of them have ever known?

I expected this book to be hot. I mean, it’s Lauren Blakely and we all know that Lauren Blakely excels at scorching hot, panty-destroying, fuck hot sexy. And she nailed all those things (and then some) here. I also expected this book to be lighthearted and funny. And it was, littered with laugh-out-loud moments and an overall feeling of happiness. What I did not expect was for it to be sweet in a way that was not overdone or cheesy but hit me right in my feels, and made my heart go all ooey-gooey. Because sometimes the magic is in the little things. And Spencer and Charlotte do the little things just perfectly right.

I’m a sucker for these friends-to-lovers romances. I’m also a sucker for these fake relationship romances. So basically, this book was already set up to be a win for me. It had some subtle twists that set it apart from others of its kind. I loved that it was written from Spencer’s point of view—though it was maybe a little distracting how in love he was with his own junk, it was also hilarious and all the sweeter when his feelings began to deepen. I also love that there’s no damaged goods here; Spencer is a player because Spencer loves the game. Charlotte had some unfortunate relationship issues in the past, but she’s not wilting from it. Life goes on. She’s strong and smart and completely likeable. Basically, she’s the best kind of book heroine.

Everything worked for me in this book. It’s light, and maybe a little fluffy, but I loved that about it. I loved that Spencer was a good guy, and Charlotte wasn’t afraid to call him on his shit when he was being an idiot. They felt like real people to me—the kind of people who love their families, and love to have fun, and occasionally do stupid things but aren’t afraid to roll with it when the game changes on them. It was adorable, and sweet, and crazy sexy, and…fun! It coaxed out my big goobery “I love this book” smile, and left my heart completely happy. And then it left me with a Nick (Spencer’s other best friend) tease that has me basically salivating for more! Well played, Ms. Blakely. Now, more please!
~ Review by Shelly

Stick a fork in me, I am DONE. I just finished Big Rock and yes, I am grinning from ear to ear. Can you blame me? It was fantastic, fun and fucking hot from start to finish!

Spencer Holiday has it all—looks, money, charisma and *ahem* the goods between his legs. And he knows how to use it all to his advantage, too.

Which is why it's a little unfortunate that instead of doing just that, he's pretending to be engaged to his very hot best friend and business partner, Charlotte. They both have their reasons for the charade, and they both know the score...

Don't fall in love.

Except, somewhere along the way, things on that front get a little dicey for Spencer. And while it might have started as a fake relationship, it may not end that way...

So good. Seriously, so, so good. This was Lauren Blakely at her slay-me finest—a book so full of humor and banter and swoon that putting it down was a task I was unable to accomplish. Read in cover-to-cover in one sitting? Oh, yes, I certainly did.

Spencer is definitely going to win hearts in this male-only POV standalone. He did mine. Because, whoa, he's the perfect blend of hubris and humility. Sex and sweetness. Lust and love. He was self-aware enough of his attributes (and his rightful arrogance in them) to be the best kind of alpha-hole—able to back up his words with his actions, both in bed and out.

Oftentimes, when reading single POV books, I feel a little robbed of the other perspective, but not so here. While I adored Charlotte, I quite loved seeing this tale unfold solely through the eyes of Spencer—and trying to decipher what was happening between our hero and his best friend right alongside him. Just as I loved seeing him interact with the people around him; quirky and lovable family members, not-so-loveable schmucks, and lickable…err, I mean, likeable friends (Mister Orgasm, where do I sign up for that?!)

It’s not typical for me to sit at my laptop smiling as I write a review, but in this case, I just can’t help myself. Every time I think of something else I liked, loved, melted over in Big Rock, my face cracks and I remember exactly why Ms. Blakely remains one of my favorite, go-to authors—she can give me fantastic, fun and fucking hot. Oh, yeah, I’m definitely done.
~ Review by Beth

OMG – I can’t stop laughing!

From the opening sentence this book found my funny bone and kept on kicking it! I’ve read a lot (maybe everything?) by this author and know any story will be well-written, super sexy and offer something fresh and new. This one though, this one hit it out of the book stacks for me. It was big in so many ways.

It was hilarious, with the dialogue and Spencer’s inner monologue just inviting me in to share the joke and laugh along with them. And someone was truly inspired by his twig (*snicker*). And I really thought rock was a euphemism for something else… I know, I know – but I couldn’t help it!

“My d*ck is f***ing awesome. But don’t just take my word it.”

The sex… OMG, the hot, toe-curling sex! The story was told entirely from Spencer’s point of view and he wasn’t shy about sharing his thoughts on how to treat a lady. When he said “back-arching, toe-curling” – he was not kidding! Watching his casual, though oddly respectful, approach to the opposite sex get turned on its ear was simply a treat.

And at the heart of it this story was all about love. Somewhere in the midst of the lies, the truth came out. I wanted, needed, to believe that their romance was simply waiting for the right time to come out. The tickles tell all!

Both Spencer and Charlotte were so good together and being surrounded by supportive, equally engaging family and friends (that I need to hear more from) was icing on the cake.

A deception that turned into so much more, this is a friends-to-lovers romance that just made me sigh over and over in contentment. This world needs more Lauren Blakely.
