Liam wasn’t supposed to be my happily ever after.
He wasn’t even on my radar.
He was my husband’s best friend—forbidden.
But my husband is dead and I’m alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.
One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love him or if he’s just the consolation prize.
Whoa! What the hell, Corinne?! That was a wicked mean cliffhanger lady! You and I are gonna have words! Right after I finish this review...
Consolation is the story of Natalie, widowed while she was pregnant, she's forced to move on with her infant daughter. Her deceased husband's best friend, Liam, starts hanging around forcing her out of her comfort zone and pushing her to take care of things she's neglected since Aaron's death. Their feelings begin to grow and evolve into love. But can Liam compete with his best friend's ghost? While I found a bit of this story to be predictable, the author also threw in some twists to knock me off my feet. Definitely wasn't expecting those! And as I said above, it's a God awful cliffhanger and I really hope the next book is releasing quickly. Like tomorrow! Consolation is a story about moving on when your entire world's been upended. There are heartbreaking moments, but most of all its about the beauty of getting a second chance at love that you weren't expecting. First person POVs from both Natalie and Liam, this is not a standalone. ~ Review by Erin |

Corinne Michaels is an emotional, witty, sarcastic, and fun loving mom of two beautiful children. She’s happily married to the man of her dreams and is a former Navy wife. After spending months away from her husband while he was deployed, reading and writing was her escape from the loneliness.
Both her maternal and paternal grandmothers were librarians, which only intensified her love of reading. After years of writing short stories, she couldn’t ignore the call to finish her debut novel, Beloved. Her alpha Navy SEALs are broken, beautiful, and will steal your heart.
