Sometimes love happens at first sight, even when you’re at an age where you can’t comprehend what it means.
It was just a crush. They were only kids, after all. But what happens when that feeling never goes away?
Brayden and Kira have been neighbors for years, and best friends since they met. They have a connection that is evident to many, and it’s haunted them their whole lives.
Teenage hormones rage, turning their friendship into something neither can handle. The attraction is carnal, all-consuming, and it seems like it’s only a matter of time before Brayden loses control.
Everything slams to a halt when their single parents decide to get remarried . . . to each other. Bad decisions and broken friendships make living across the hall from the one person you want above all difficult. Luckily for Brayden, it’s only for a few months before he’s off to college in another state, leaving Kira to face high school alone.
Brayden tries to stay away, to forget her, but it’s an impossible task he fails at time and time again. Kira is morphing from a sexy teenager to an irresistible woman, one that knows what she wants and seems hell-bent on getting it.
As Kira’s eighteenth birthday approaches, Brayden has a decision to make. Does he keep running away from the thing he wants the most or does he run toward it?
Is it possible to ever be happy without the one person you need?
I've been dying to read this book ever since I saw a teaser and read the synopsis. It wasn't quite what I expected, I got an angsty vibe just before I started it, but that didn't really prepare me for anything. It just turned out to be more than what I originally thought it was going to be. Need really put me through the wringer, but I never considered throwing in the towel and calling it quits.
Usually I love the heroes and they're my favorite, but I can't say that about Braydon. I did love him in the beginning, but then he turned into a stupid (his word, not mine), hurting jerk and it turned me off of him. I'm sure in Take that I will love him again, but he has a long way to go and a lot to make up for. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate him and I did love his all possessive-growly-she's-minestuff after he stopped being a dork and decided to stop fighting his need to be with her, but I couldn't fully enjoy it. And I do sort of understand where he was coming from, but he needs to make things right and I know he will.
Kira and her brother, Ryan, were my favorite characters, especially Ryan. Ryan was just awesome and I loved him! He's supportive, smart, and just a rock. I loved Kira and when she decided to make Braydon work for it. She has quite a few weak moments, but she is a strong, kicka*s chick and I'm looking forward to the more fight she puts in against Braydon!
Need might be told in two parts, but it is a good length novel. It's mostly angsty, but it still made laugh and smile at times. It's also hot, hot, hot! I don't know if I can say I loved this book, I loved certain parts, but as a whole, I don't know. I will be looking out for the next one though.
Need is told from both Braydon and Kira's POV, there's no HEA yet, and it is a cliffhanger, but not a bad one that will drive you crazy or I don't think it will.

K.I. Lynn spent her life in the arts, everything from music to painting and ceramics, then to writing. Characters have always run around in her head, acting out their stories, but it wasn’t until later in life she would put them to pen. It would turn out to be the one thing she was really passionate about.
Since she began posting stories online, she’s garnered acclaim for her diverse stories and hard hitting writing style. Two stories and characters are never the same, her brain moving through different ideas faster than she can write them down as it also plots its quest for world domination…or cheese. Whichever is easier to obtain… Usually it’s cheese.

N. Isabelle Blanco was born in Queens, NY (USA). At the age of three, due to an odd fascination with studying her mother’s handwriting, she began to read and write. By the time she’d reached kindergarten, she had an extensive vocabulary and her obsession with words began to bleed into every aspect of her life.
An avid reader in her teens, her fascination with Japanese anime eventually led her to the universe of fan fiction, which became her on-again, off-again hobby for the next ten years. During that time she amassed a following of fans that, by her own admission, she would never be able to live without. It was those fans who encouraged her to step beyond the fan fiction realm and try her talent in the publishing world.
N. Isabelle Blanco spends her days working as an author, web programmer, marketer, and graphic designer. That is when she isn’t handling her “spawn”, as she calls her son, and brainstorming with him about his future career as a comic book illustrator.
