Let me start off saying that this book really surprised me. This was a beautiful story about allowing yourself to move on and letting love into your life again with no regrets!

 

Audra, a widow and loving mother of 5 year old twins, wasn't looking for love and just wanted to learn to live again and move on with her broken life. Since her husband's death she was just a shell trying to live for her boys but her BFF Quinn was having none of that. The night Quinn got Audra to go out for the first time in a year, she meets Brecken. Audra being stubborn, wants nothing to do with him. Well life had other plans for her and as hard as she tried to avoid him, life kept throwing him her way.

 

Brecken, a delicious hunk of a man, had his eyes set on Audra from the moment she walked into the bar and he wasn't going to let her go without a fight. Since his company is going to be doing the renovations at her house, he starts working up the charm to make her see that he is the man for her. 

 

Let me say that Ms Kelly put a lot of emotion in this story and it will be tugging at your heart. We get to see all that Brecken does to convince Audra to give him a chance. He tries to show her that he can be the man she doesn't think she needs. We see Audra battle her inner demons and Brecken slowly breaking down the walls she has erected around her heart, allowing herself to feel alive again.

 

Now there are road bumps in the way to their HEA and I will say, a couple of them had me tearing up and saying there is no way you just did/said that. The secondary characters also all helped the flow of the story, especially Audra's girlfriends! I also loved the epilogue. Thank you Kennedy Kelly and I can't wait for what else you have in store for us.

My teachers would call home not because I was in trouble but because I had a creative imagination and they wanted my parents to know about the crazy stories I was writing.
