Title: Finding Flynn
Series: Marlowe #1
Author: Alexandria Bishop
Release Date: July 26, 2015

Ashtyn Moretti is ready for the best summer of her life. But her parents have other plans when they drop the bomb that her perfect summer will be spent…

Away from home.

Away from friends.

Away from half her family.

Armed with her Summer from Hell playlist and a Kindle full of book boyfriends, Ashtyn prepares to face what she is sure will be the worst summer of her life. Or will it be?

Flynn James has one thing on his mind—the success of his band Marlowe. He’s focused and doesn’t have time for any distractions, and that includes facing his past. But then a petite brunette comes walking into the pub where he works.

Neither Ashtyn or Flynn were looking for love but they can’t deny their obvious attraction. Ashtyn’s summer has been full of lies. The last thing she expects is for Flynn to be one of the liars too. Can she forgive his lies and turn her summer around? Can Flynn keep his secrets without losing everything? Or will this really be the Summer from Hell?

Finding Flynn by Allie Bishop is a YA rockstar love story.

Flynn is a 21 year old super hot musician, living in small town Oregon and singing in a pub when Ashtyn wanders in after a fight with her mom. Flynn is singing one of Ashtyn’s favorite songs, so she stays for a while...

When Chloe, Ashtyn’s BFF, comes to visit for the summer, the dynamics of everything change. Ashtyn is so caught up in her relationship with Flynn, she can’t see what is going on before her own two eyes.

I enjoyed reading Flynn’s story. The relationship between Flynn and Ashtyn develops at the pace it should considering she’s 18 and he is 21. Like every young adult they each have issues with their parents, for different reasons, and it is a huge part of the story.

Finding Flynn was light and refreshing even though there was some drama and angst. It wasn’t heavy or dark; the author simply did a good job relating to the way young people would feel and act in certain situations. I’m intrigued to see what will come next!

Wandering around a strange town after a fight with her mom, eighteen year old Ashtyn Moretti finds herself finally enjoying herself as she sits in the pub that drew her in with its live music. This was supposed to be the best summer of her life—how quickly that changed when her mother dropped the bomb that’s going to change things forever. Fortunately for Ashtyn, the drop dead gorgeous singer just so happens to be the bartender too. And he notices her…

Flynn James has been singularly focused on his band, Marlowe, and their success. He’s had no time or desire for relationships or to face his past. He’s not looking for any distractions until he spots the beautiful brunette at the end of the bar.

Ashtyn and Flynn hit it off immediately; neither of them can deny their instant attraction. But will their summer fling last past August when Ashtyn heads back to school or will it end when Flynn’s secrets come to light?

Finding Flynn was a sweet, slightly sexy, romantic read. I loved the pacing of Ashtyn and Flynn’s relationship—it was perfectly appropriate for their ages. The rest of the band members are great characters too—Jax, Hudson, and Jude are like brothers to Flynn; they’re his chosen family. Add in the craziness of Chloe, Ashtyn’s best friend, and it’s an instant party.

Overall, I truly enjoyed Finding Flynn and am looking forward to Hudson and Chloe’s story next.
