Review - The Consequence of Seduction by Rachel Van Dyken

Title: The Consequence of Seduction
Series: Consequence #3
Author: Rachel Van Dyken
Release Date: February 9, 2016

Reid Emory has never had reason to question his luck with the ladies. As the owner of a lethal set of aqua-blue eyes and a devastating grin, this Hollywood heartthrob always brings his A game…but lately his luck seems to have run out. The actor is in need of some help, and there’s only one person he can trust to take his love life—and his career—to an explosive new level.

Jordan Litwright’s newest client is trying her patience. As a publicist, she’s more than content to stay in the background and let others shine. But when a publicity stunt backfires, she suddenly finds herself thrust into the spotlight—as Reid’s new love interest. And while other men usually overlook her, Reid is focusing in with laserlike intensity. There’s no denying they have serious chemistry.

But once Reid breaks into the big time, can they turn their made-for-the-media romance into a forever love?

The Consequence series has brought me a lot of laughs, and Reid’s book was no different. With Max stirring things up and Reid’s new found fame, things can get a little crazy.

Reid landed a big role in a movie that has put him in the spotlight. Because of this, he needs a publicist. With a little meddling from his brother Max, his publicist becomes more than just someone working for him—she becomes his new love interest.

Jordan is great at her job and she’s not going to let Reid get in the way of her getting a promotion. She needs him to behave and not do anything crazy, but when she gets involved on a personal level things get way more complicated.

I very much enjoyed this book and all of Max’s antics that make everything more interesting. Jordan and Reid have an interesting relationship that is based on being fake for the media but things get good when they start to accept that they have real feelings for each other. Though it wouldn’t be without a few bumps in the road. Will they be able to have a relationship that is real or will it remain only for the media?

It was great to catch up with the rest of the gang. This book had a lot of laughs with a good romance thrown in with it. I can’t wait to read Jason’s story next!

I am a huge fan of romantic comedies. If I can simultaneously laugh while crying, I feel like I have hit the book jackpot. Rachel is one of the best authors for this. Her The Bet series has and will always be one of my favorites for this reason. The Consequence series is not far behind. Filled with so much humor, romance and charm—you can't help but fall in love with the series!

The Consequence of Seduction is a standalone but I highly recommend you read the first two books first. With appearances of characters from the previous books, you can get a better feel of the characters that way. Plus, the books are hilarious and perfectly written so why wouldn't you?

Max and Reid are a dynamic duo that are not to be messed with. Their antics had me giggling like a school girl. Max alone was hilarious but with the addition of Reid, let's just say this was the perfect book!

"The type of ex you order a hit on just because the mere fact that they're alive and breathing offends the sh** out of you."

Jordan is a spit fire who is not to be messed with also. When Reid and Jordan collide, watch out world. If you aren't laughing, you'll be fanning yourself from the heat.

Trust me when I say The Consequence of Seduction is worth a read!

Reid Emory—heartthrob, brilliant actor, hotel heir—has never had a problem scoring with the ladies. With his gorgeous grin and piercing blue-eyes, he’s always gotten the girl. Until the past month or so. He’s hit a bit of a dry spell and he’s kind of okay with it… It’s the people around him that want him to get back on the horse, so to speak—most especially his lunatic of a brother, Max.

Jordan Litwright is a publicist whose area of expertise is staying in the shadows. She’s saved the public personas of more Hollywood stars, professional athletes and other high profile people than she can count but her latest client—one Reid Emory—has turned out to be one of the most challenging yet. Jordan is on the verge of a massive promotion and keeping Reid’s “face” clean and professional is going to help her get it. Except when maybe it won’t, because all of a sudden Jordan now finds herself under the bright, shiny spotlight.

Never one to be noticed—often overlooked—Jordan has her hands full trying to balance her job and her heart. Her heart because Reid actually SEES her and LIKES what he sees. And their chemistry is off the charts. But as the pressure mounts and Reid’s popularity rises, can Jordan and Reid keep up with their “Made for Media” romance or will it turn into something more?

These Consequence books just keep getting better and better. The characters are quirky and laugh-out-loud funny, but also touching, tender, loving, hateful, snarky, devious, accident prone, deviant and sometimes a bit childish…you know, just like normal people. I loved the storyline between Reid and Jordan—especially Max’s hand in making it happen. Reid and Jordan are adorable together and pretty damn sexy.

I also loved catching up with Milo and Colton, Max and Becca, and Jason too. They’re all a whole lot of crazy but absolutely lovable. Can’t wait for Jason’s story next!
