"An epic love story for the ages." ~ Give Me Books

A new stand-alone novel from NYT & USA Bestselling Author A.L. Jackson...

Do you know what it feels like right before lightning strikes? How you can feel the current running through your veins? The trembles of warning that ripple through the air? It was a thrill Tamar King chased all her life until it became the very thing she had to escape.

For the last four years, Tamar King has hidden herself in an isolated world she created. She was safe. No one could touch her. Until Lyrik West walked through her door.

He’s the lead guitarist for Sunder and everything she can never have. The dark and beautiful rock star becomes everything she craves.

Lyrik’s life has been devoted to his band and that success has cost him. Bitter, hard, and filled with regret, he refuses to lose himself again, but from the moment he sees her, he wants one night with Tamar King.

The gorgeous bartender is more than he bargained for. Their attraction is consuming. Their desire overpowering. With one touch, they ignite.

But is it worth the cost of getting burned?

She’s a gorgeous nightmare and he’s a wicked dream…

WHERE LIGHTNING STRIKES, a Bleeding Stars Stand-Alone Novel

"Crackling with emotion and sizzling with passion, the tale of Lyric and Tamar is so electric, it will leave you happily satisfied, but still begging for more.” NYT Bestselling Author M. Leighton

Where Lightning Strikes is a beautifully written, heartbreakingly, real life story of love, suffering and forgiveness. The words flow off the pages like lyrical madness that sucked me in from the very beginning. As I stare at this screen and attempt to put all the feels into words, I don’t know that I will be able to do this book justice.

From the very beginning, my heart took up residence in my throat and stayed. My eyes were on the verge of leaking and the feels were off the charts. Feels that I never expected or dreamed would be in a book whose main characters were rock stars. But then we all have a past, and sometimes our past dictates our future…

Lyrik West is a bad-boy rock star. His tattooed-up body, his piercing dark eyes and the air of his body language portray the perfect picture. Bad Boy. Rock Star. In truth, he’s so much more than this.

Tamar King is hiding in plain sight. She lives in her own clouded hell and stays far from the limelight. Except she’s drawn to Lyrik.

“I hated being this girl. Fearful and scared of emotions I didn’t want to feel. But that’s how this boy made me. Shaky and confused and losing the grip of the carefully constructed walls I clung to.”
—Be still my heart. Accept it for what it is and breathe.

This resonated with me so much. How often have we been scared of our own emotions and feelings? How someone made us feel? This right here made me remember what it was like to fall head over heels in love. When I had no idea it was happening until it slapped me in the face. When all I wanted to do was let go and be. But it isn’t always that easy. We build walls not to keep others out, but to keep ourselves safe.

I fell asleep with Lyrik in my hand and woke up to dreams of beautiful music. I reached for my Kindle that was right beside me ready and waiting. I jumped right in and deciding adulting could wait just a few more minutes. I needed to finish the story. I needed to absorb myself in the angsty, insane, all consuming and brave love that was Lyrik and Tamar.

Don’t wait. This is an epic story for the ages!!!
~ Review by Heather

Whoa.

This book was addicting.
Intense.
Suuuper angsty.

I feel wrung out and hungover and yet, somehow, also on the biggest book high imaginable. Let’s see if I can work these feels into a review.

This was my first A.L. Jackson book. Yes, I know, it's right in the middle of a series, which is not always the best way to check out a new author, but I had no issues there. If anything, it made me hungry to read the books that came before this one—and I had no problem following this story. Or, I should say, fully immersing myself in it, because that's what happened. I didn't want to put this book down. I ached and buzzed with the same charged energy that Lyrik and Tamar experienced. I felt pulled into the story, fully invested, my heart feeling every bruise, every spark of hope, and all that crazy, messy love.

Lyrik and Tamar are both incredibly broken—pieces of themselves shattered, protective walls firmly in place to keep people away. Because of this, their relationship is a rollercoaster ride, a constant push/pull. It's sexy and intense and fierce. It's incredibly (and deliciously) angsty as they work through their own issues to try and find room for each other in their lives, and the courage to love without fear ruling their hearts. It’s brilliantly written in a way that allowed me to lose myself in the drama without ever becoming frustrated with it. I never skipped over parts that felt over-wrought—I was simply hooked on every word of this story, and as my Kindle counted down the percentage until complete, I started to panic like I maybe wasn't ready to say goodbye yet. I wasn’t. Lord, I loved Lyrik and Tamar.

Where Lightning Strikes is one of those books that will leave you satisfied (I mean, in a hung over way); the story big and twisty and jammed with emotions, all wrapped in the happiest, sweetest ending, which serves as a balm for the heart after the journey it just took. I loved every moment of this book. I'm completely hooked.
