Review - Blow Softly by Debra Kayn

Title: Blow Softly
Series: Red Light: Silver Girls #1
Author: Debra Kayn
Release Date: March 31, 2016

She can hear, but can't talk.

The moment a customer steps into the Blue Room at Red Light, sex is the only thing on Madison's mind. Men prefer a meek, obedient, silent woman to entertain them for money. Her muteness makes her the most popular prostitute at the illegal bordello in Federal, Idaho. But at the end of her work day, Madison's curiosity to know more about the man who spends his time keeping her company in the darkness outside the Blue Room consumes her until desire overcomes necessity.

At the right place. At the right time.

Bear has nothing to offer any woman. A felon and a member of Moroad Motorcycle Club, he takes what is at his disposal—women, cash, parties—and never thinks about tomorrow. Until he witnesses Madison's smile and suddenly tomorrow matters. Determined to show Madison what she does for a living doesn't define her, he refuses to walk away.

The blurb for Blow Softly captured my attention and I just had to read it!! Be warned, though, the prologue had me choking back tears, wanting to SMACK Madison's mother!!!

Poor Madison endured something no child should ever go through—not having love and protection from her own mother. To think that her mother picked a worthless piece of sh*t over her own flesh and blood infuriated me!!!

Madison's past has her making certain choices that she feels will keep her safe, and give her freedom....to a certain point. As she gives her body to strangers, she makes sure to keep her heart intact—safe and locked away. That is, until Bear comes a-whistling into her life.

These two go down a dangerous path, yet Bear is up for dangerous because that means he get to see the true Madison—the one who has captured his heart. I loved seeing how true and real Madison and Bear's friend-to-lovers relationship came to be. Bear, being a loving person, made sure to convey to Madison how much she meant to him. In my eyes, I feel Bear was exactly what Madison needed to be able to believe in herself, and to see her true worth.

Yes, there is sex here, but this story was so much more than that. It was a beautiful story of loving yourself, letting go of the demons that drag you down, and allowing others to love you for who you truly are. Bear and Madison were beautifully made for each other.
