Ten years ago they had smoldering chemistry, but the spark between them now might light a fuse that leads to an explosion even Jace can't stop. Not that he wants to. If only Alexa can get past her guilt and trust her heart again.

But how do you put it all on the line when you've already lost everything once before?

****** 5 Explosive Stars*****

"You're my past, my present, and I want you to be my future."

First and foremost, I want to thank Tessa Teevan for giving me an ARC of her debut book, Ignite. This book was truly a joy to read. It had me squealing with laughter, awing at the sweet and loving moments, brought tears to my eyes and of course had me yearning for more. I know Tessa was a little nervous about my review since she read my previous review about a widower/old flame, but she had nothing to worry about. I reassured her that I LOVED the book. It was beautifully well written that will capture and tug all the right amount of emotions of your heart.

Ignite is the first book of the series, Explosive, that centers on the life of Alexa Sullivan Tate and Jace McAllister. This beautiful story was about friendship, heartache, loss, love found, second chances, life, forgiveness and acceptance. Can the heart withstand so much pain and heartbreak before getting pieced back together? When is the right time to move on? Can love be found a second time around?

Alexa Sullivan Tate, is left a widow at young age of 26. Her late husband, Ty, suffered and died instantly at a tragic car accident leaving Alexa's world completely shattered. A part of her life also died the day when Ty was taken away from her. The loss completely devastated her. She lost the man whom she loved so dearly and the future they were going to build.

Jace McAllister, is 28 years old working and serving the US Army. He fought and survived war overseas but could never stay in a committed relationship because he would always compare them to the girl that stole his heart in high school. For him, Alexa Sullivan was the "one."

All through high school, Alexa was secretly in love with her best friend, Jace, the all-star baseball player. On the night of Jace's graduation, he reveals his true feelings for Alexa before he leaves for the Army the following day. Circumstances and misunderstanding keeps them apart for 10 years. Alexa finds love again with Ty and is married to him for about 8 years. While she is still reeling from her tragic loss, she tries to put back pieces and semblance of her life with the help of her family and friends. Her sister, Sierra invites her to go with her to her high school reunion. After 10 years, the feelings that Jace and Alexa once shared ignites. Their sexual chemistry, feelings and love are palpable.

What I love about this book was that Jace and Alexa's story was well paced and their love for each other was evoked in every action and words. Jace was the total package. He was sweet, loving, understanding, and patient. I've never felt he rushed Alexa into their relationship. For him to understand and accept Alexa's love for Ty truly testifies what a great man he is. As for Alexa, I adored her for her strength, acceptance and love. I especially loved that they were able to keep and maintained a long distance relationship while he was overseas and of course I LOVE LOVE they exchanged handwritten letters. There is nothing like a handwritten letter.

Tessa did a fabulous job in writing Jace and Alexa's relationship. She was able to incorporate wit, humor, laughter, love, friendship, romance, and acceptance all in this book. The secondary characters were simply refreshing. I loved each everyone of them: Brady, Sierra, Jeremy, Knox, and of course my favorite Ava. What I also love about this book, it was able to incorporate references of pop culture and introduced us to the new term of "blue clit master." I highly recommend everyone to pick up and read this book because it reminds us all that life is full of second chances and new beginnings whether its moving on or loving again.

Lastly, I want to thank all the men and women serving and protecting our country. You are all heroes!!
